Liberals believe that all the money belongs to government

And letting people keep more of the money they earn is the same as government giving it away

I double backed on myself and found polling which says that a majority do support the DOJ conducting an investigation. But Trump did not call for the DOJ to investigate, did he? He asked for a foreign government, one of which is an authoritarian regime that routinely flouts international law (according to the Trump administration) and the other of which has a significant history of corruption (according to the Trump administration).

    What history?

You've established nothing and the goal is to grow the economy faster than we grow the government and therefore lowering tax revenues to GDP. The government does not have a claim to a certain percentage of GDP and the less it takes of it the better for economic growth.

How does the government taking more and more money out of the capital markets grow the economy?

He asked them to cooperate with our DOJ as the treaty requires.

When did he mention the DOJ when he was talking about China? Hell, when did he mention the DOJ when talking to Ukraine? I only remember him referencing AG Barr and his personal attorney (although Trump believes that both Barr and Giuliani are his personal attorney).

Does that treaty mention anything about speaking to his personal attorney?

The treaty sets no limits on what attorneys can conduct the investigations

No, he is the attorney general. Trump just thinks that Barr is his personal attorney.

Ahhh no and in fact you have contradicted yourself

    ronv said:
Tax rates have little to do with GDP. If anything we should be higher.

    ronv said:
I don't know where you got that one, but the data doesn't support it either.
The highest revenue to GDP occurs at around 50% as the top bracket.

    Try again

How does the government taking more and more money out of the capital markets grow the economy?

PEOPLE need to fund the government which they demand!

YOU want less taxes then greatly reduce government functions...

I'm guessing you don't understand economics.

Trumps minor tariffs on China have no bearing on trade between the EU and China or the EU and the rest of the world.

You are now in an historic unprecedented 125-months of economic expansion.

Economies can contract due to external influences like interest rates, liquidity or Capital reallocation, or internal reasons like efficiency.

    Actually, their economies are doomed.

Their unfunded liabilities through 2040 far exceed their GDP.

Britain is the best situated owing only 75% of their GDP with Italy being in the worst position at 300% of GDP.

Germany claims it only owes 80% of GDP, but independent sources like the EU Central Bank and others put it at 260% of GDP.

That's unsustainable. Massive tax increases and cuts to social security and healthcare still won't cover the costs.

France slashed its pensions from 50% of your salary the last year you work to 37.5%, then raised the retirement age to 65 years, and now makes everyone work 7 years longer than Americans in order to get 100% of their retirement benefits and still France cannot pay for it.

My guess is France will slash pensions further, probably to 32.5% or even 28% in order to be able to pay for it.

Well perhaps I should have phrased it

Imagine if more of the European countries would HAVE adoptED more Trump like economic policies..........

They have to turn it around and that means telling these government workers your benefits will be cut and brought more in line with private sector benefits. And we will have to do the same here on the state and local levels. And then we should end public sector unions.
