    Really?

Your leaders are real bright, Sobo.

I can think of several things they could do with that money, starting with giving it back to taxpayers.

Spending it on Germany's anemic economy would be another obvious option.

Absolutely not. Germany has almost zero unemployment. We need a recession. The 12 year ongoing boom created more and more bizarre leftist projects.

Again, I suggest paying down their debt.

That's the best way to begin to deflate the economy, and will put them in a good position if there should turn out to be an unexpected recession.

LOL - I can sympathize with your aversion to creating more bizarre Leftist projects, but what you need is a rational RW government, not a recession.

If you had a rational RW government it would return that 15 billion € back to you and your fellow taxpayers and then YOU could decide to pump it back into the economy, save it, piss it down the toilet, blow it on whores, whatever YOU want to do with it. It's YOUR money - not your government's money.

If your government has more money than it knows what to do with then you are being over-taxed, and that's nothing to brag about. If I were you I would be reaming out my leaders and demanding a tax refund AND a tax cut. That will also help solve your problem with the creation of more bizarre Leftist projects. No money, no problem.

Just because you can not afford one - and have never driven and Audi - is no reason to demonize.

Why don't you spend it on your unfunded liabilities?

Germany claims its unfunded liabilities are only 80% of GDP, but a number of independent sources, including the Market Economy Foundation and the EU Central Bank put it at 276% and 228% of GDP respectively.

Your unfunded liabilities are the pension and healthcare benefits you'll have to pay out through 2040, and you ain't got the money to pay them.

    Whatevs, Sobo!
    Muslims are coming to Germany.
By the way, when I was in Frankfurt the only germans I saw were too brown to be European.
I guess global warming and the sun getting brighter contribute to germans getting unusually tan.

You see wrong--American soldiers are in Germany with the express permission of the German government.
Pick up and leave. Stop whining.
    This is absurd.
Fortunately, you don't speak for Americans.

So, these non-Germans you don't care about ... what if they screw up the climate by continuing to burn excessive amounts of fossil fuels?

That's what I would suggest, too.... pay off the national debt!!
    Here is the debt clock:

Germany Debt Clock: 2,306,130,432,594 € and rising!
I don't know what Sobo is bragging about! The interest is huge and gets piled on by the second!!!

    The interest is negative

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.foxbusiness.com/economy/trump-germany-bond-yields-fed-criticism.amp

People pay Germany so it Takes their Money

Our debt is one of lowest of all Industrial Powers and gets smaller evry year

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKCN1M60ZW

    From your own Link

The Bundesbank, which is Germany’s central bank, reports that the country’s general government debt as a percentage of GDP was 64.1% at the end of 2017. This is lower than the previous year. In fact, the country’s debt has been falling for some time: Year Debt level (€ billion) % of GDP 2010 2,088 80.9 2011 2,125 78.6 2012 2,202 79.8 2013 2,190 77.5 2014 2,192 74.7 2015 2,162 71 2016 2,145 68.2 2017 2,093 64.1 A falling level of debt is a good indicator for traders. It shows that the government has the capacity to repay debt instruments when they fall due. Such an indicator generally increases the value of government bonds and enables the government to charge a lower rate of interest when they issue new bonds. This is the case in Germany. Under the Maastricht Treaty all EU government pledge to reduce their national debt to a debt to GDP ratio of 60%. Many countries ignore that obligation or try to delay the implementation of debt reduction. Germany’s debt to GDP ratio of 80.9% in 2010 was the peak figure. Since then the German government has been striving to get to the 60% target and it is almost there.
