Syria doesnt want us there. Turkey doesnt want us there. Why should we be there?

I only know that wild conspiracy theories have never been right.

I remember a long time ago when I wasted hours and hours debunking the nonsense. Not anymore. So I'll just leave this with one comment:

Look.... if there is one thing that real government conspiracies have taught us is that the. government is absolutely incapable of succeeding in pulling one off. So if your conspiracy theory ends in any sort of success, you can be damn sure it's fake.

Trump said he was going to pull out of Syria as far back as 2015. The Kurds had 4 years of prep time. Just in March of 2018 he warned we would be leaving. This was obvious and a campaign promise that he could actually keep.

"Conspiracy theory" is just a meaningless, intellectually lazy term that people throw around whenever they want to avoid a real debate about an uncomfortable subject.

So what's an example of a "real" government conspiracy, in your opinion?

Except the existence and persistence of the US empire cannot be explained by stupidity alone. Therefore, the possibility of malice must be entertained.

I posted this a while back. It's the proof that the US has been supporting Al Qaeda in Syria:

He relocated about 50 special forces soldiers who were embedded with the Kurds in northern Syria. The only reason Turkey refrained from attacking the Kurds in northern Syria was the presence of those special forces soldiers.

The "Free Syria Army", which the dishonest media styled as "moderate rebels", were jihadists. The CIA was supporting jihadists in Syria, just like they did in Afghanistan during the cold war.

Trump allowing Turkey to attack our Kurd allies and hoping there wouldn't be a huge backlash, for example.

Hard to say. But the fact remains, there are still about 1,000 US troops inside Syria.

How about the US government lying to the entire world about "weapons of mass destruction" and waging a disastrous war as a result? Where were all the diligent journalists and academics and intellectuals then? Oh, that's right... they were helping to spread those lies on the front pages of the New York Times.

Harlon's Razor doesn't say that malice doesn't exist. But we have done our "malice" pretty much out in the open. No need for conspiracy theories. Many times in our history the U.S. has taken actions that ended up backfiring. Especially in an area of the world as complex and volatile as the ME. That doesn't mean they were done with malice. Your statements and those of the other poster were worded in a way that implied that Obama secretly wanted to create Isis. That's where the conspiracy theory begins and your credibility ends. Especially because we are trying to bring attention to the idiotic (and possibly malicious... we will know that) actions by Trump. So this looks very much like an attempt to change the subject. Obama made many mistakes. But that's irrelevant to this topic. So my answer to any such attempts is always the same:

    Who's Obama?

Trump is Green Lighting Syria to unleash a Kovoso-Style Genocide on the Kurds.

    Daddy Vlad would be proud.

Failed! We didn't get the Oil.

So your attempts to change the subject now include gratuitous attacks on journalists, academics, intellectuals and the NYT. Anything else before you start telling us that it's OK for Trump to throw our allies under the bus? Or do you still have more red herrings under your sleeve?

We shouldn't be there. Time to gather our equipment, come home AND deploy on OUR southern border.

We haven't pulled out, but we did abandon the Kurds in Northern Syria to our "ally".
