Interesting, but largely irrelevant in regard to our betrayal.

The Turk's & Kurd's have been at each others throats since 1978.

    Clinton failed the Kurd's.
    Bush failed the Kurd's.
    Obama failed the Kurd's.

    But, But, But......................................Trump!

Liberals are so full of **** and hypocrisy.

Are you arguing that because, in your opinion, others failed them, it was OK for Trump to do the same?

It's plainly evident that Trump only decided to abandon the Kurds because Erdogan promised some benefits for him in Turkey; because not only is this betraying a group that allowed you to claim of "Beating ISIS", this is a national security disaster in the making as it's already shown that Turkey's invasion of Rojava is allowing the remnants of ISIS to regroup and reform.

    Come on grandma...

OK now we are getting somewhere...so it was Trump who promised the Kurds that we would protect them from the Turks? Was this in a treaty or agreement with the SDF? When was this agreement signed? What are the details of it?

I don't think you really define American ideals with anything I've seen you post on this topic. You sound more like a Boy Scout than a defender of our national honor.

What did he promise and when did he do it? Show me a link to a legitimate source that spells out that promise.

All the Kurds had to do was stop claiming Syrian land that was never theirs in the first place, and they would have gotten the support of Assad's army and the backing of the UN.

An independent Kurdish state will always be a threat to Turkey since it borders their own Kurdish inhabited territory.

Not to point out the obvious, but Syria as a country has only been in existence since the 1920's. Not to mention that there have been records of Kurds living in the Northeastern part of Syria since the *******n 11th century, and since Northeastern Syria is primarily composed of Kurds, it makes sense for them to be an independent state, which should be the case as the Kurds are the largest ethnic group on the planet to lack a nation to call their own.

That's an interesting point. Are you an ethno-nationalist? Do you think every ethnic group should have it's own state?

You must be joking, right? Trump did the smart thing by moving our 50 remaining troops out of harms way. He did the right thing about pulling out of the Middle East. These people have been fighting for over 200 years, at some point you have to say enough is enough if nothing is changing. And that's just what Trump did, much to the chagrin of all the hawks in our government. And keep in mind these wars were fought not to win, but to let money change hands. We have successfully obliterated ISIS and now the mission has fallen to the local governments to police and protect the state. Obama sure as hell feels that loss. His baby, ISIS, is no more. Just another radical Islamic terrorist group that's had their asses kicked six ways from Sunday.

If they can't get along with one another and that there are more upsides on the internation level and regional level for an ethnic group within a larger nation to break off and form their own state: Then yes.

It's plainly evident that Turkey and Erdogan would love nothing more than to basically cleanse the land of any Kurds.

Well the Kurds do welcome volunteers, so good luck and let us know how the fight for freedom goes.

They actually stopped accepting Western volunteers. Not that they weren't welcome but both the YPG and IKG didn't have the time or resources to train them. Unless you have military training, the Kurds don't want anyone from the West.

Is it honorable to betray your friends to a dictator? I suppose even a Boy Scout knows the answer is no, but certainly not the pragmatists—there isn’t a single principle they won’t betray for the immediate gratification of the moment.

BTW: When did being a Boy Scout become a sin? And how does an honest soul justify its use as a smear in an debate about the lack of honor and intelligence of the cowardly imbecile, Trump? Oh. an honest soul wouldn’t. Got it.

And sends planes, weapons, and troops into greater potential for harm to protect one Islamic dictatorship from another.

That’s coherent? That’s cohesive? That’s ending wars and leaving the Middle East? Trump could kill babies on national TV and there would be sick sycophants supporting his actions in the name of making America great again. Wait he has, and they are—Kurdish babies—bombed and murdered by the dictator Erdogan, with permission from Trump.
