It seems Russia is assuming the role the US is abandoning and they are now patrolling between the Syrian and Turkish forces. Not sure where it leaves the Kurds but the US is well out of it.

I agree, but I'm not sure about the "smelling like a rose" part.

In fact, Turkey has many US nuclear weapons stored at their air base. Essentially, those have become hostage to the antics of Trump with his standard fare "sanctions" against Turkey.

Surely not - but, lets shoot the arrows straight. Hyperbolic generalizations only serve to delegitimize the cause.

Perhaps the title was perhaps a bit over stated - and we will have to see what the endgame looks like.

Nowhere in my post do I say or infer that.

The sin of omission is the new standard for the MSM. Then you have the labeling game - classic demonization of the other. The same thing happened during the 80's when the death squads in El Salvador - Guatemala - were characterized as "freedom fighters" and the popular movement of the people characterized as "Communism".

Not that I mean to directly compare the MSM back then to now .. now it is far worse - to the point of being Orwellian doublespeak much of the time.

The regularly repeated claim - an monstrous lie - "we are there to defeat ISIS" claim goes unchallenged.

I found it interesting that educated people are fleeing the GOP in droves.

    Don't you?

No. Trump didn't "shoot up" anybody.

ISIS was already being defeated when Bonespurs became "presuhdint". Once again, he and his supporters give him credit for riding trends that started well before he accepted foreign assistance and became "presuhdint".

How are other countries supposed to take our word for anything, whether it involves a treaty or a military alliance, with Bonespurs as "presuhdint"?

It was really the Russian air force along with Shia militias - many loyal to Iran such as Hezbollah that beat back ISIS and destroyed the caliphate.

The US likes to take credit but in fact, along with Saud, their real intentions in Syria were regime change to try and get rid of Assad. To this end they often supported Sunni radicals and extremists including al Qaeda and Jabhat al Nusra fronts.

All true, but Turkey is the NATO ally. At some point you neo cons are going to have to choose, NATO or the Kurds. You can't have both.

The real question is why the NATO is doing nothing.

Trump is not the first to turn his back on the Kurdish allies and I bet will not be the last.

Wait, are you saying that we should have gotten involved in the Syrian Civil War? Dang! Staying out (well mostly) is one of the few foreign policy decisions I give Obama credit for.

Says you with nothing to back your claim except a one line drive by.

These attempts to deflect from facts by attacking the poster with nothing of substance on your own part are very lame, lazy and transparent.

Say something of substance to refute my statement. Show that it was not Russia and Iranian backed militias that broke the back of ISIS in Syria.
