    A giant... Lol.

More like an obese freak. You still have the same problem that led to your failure in two world war. An over abondance of pride and a chronic lack of ressources. You have no fuel and no minerals. Please do try to conquer the world again, it'll be fun watching you crumble again once your stockpile are running out. Your pretty planes, tanks and trucks are quite useless without fuel and quite hard to produce without mineral imports.

This is why the UK didn't surendered after Dunkirk. They knew you couldn't last long once blockaded.

When I first saw the US, saw a stop sign at night with out a camera un-monitored doing nothing but being a stop sign. This was in 2001, this was my first trip to America, this was novel to me. I questioned how anyone would know if you ran it and why you should still stop at it if you can still see nothing's coming. I was young.

Well when you see our highly automated aircraft and car industry i assume, it would take up to 2 months if needed. It depends but when we switch peacetime industry to war time industry, the output could be gargantuan

We have a mineral that comes quite handy. Massive amounts of Uranium. So highly enriched, it even has traces of Plutonium. USSR nuclear weapons were made from our ore.

And yes, a giant. 4th largest economy in the world. Thats quite good.

You will find that vast numbers of American laws and regulations are basically on the "honor system" (including ironically enough our federal income tax system).

I have no regard for the actual war fighting capabilities of drones so we can dismiss that.

How do you get an extra 350,000 Germans to sign up for military service?

    LOL.

And without fuel and other minerals than uranium, what are you going to use to build your missiles, planes and ships?

We never lacked any minerals. What we lacked was gas and oil. But in 21st century i dont see that as problem. Synthetic fuels are possible now.

P.s. the uranium in the chernobyl reactor came from my state

I dont know why we should?

We have no enemies around us. So i dont understand why we would need that.

If you're going to answer the question then assume the need.

And by the way Sobo, if you recall Nazi Germany also had synthetic fuels yet it didn't come close to meeting their needs. Though I'm sure technology regarding Synfuels has changed, there are some issues such as basic chemistry which cannot change.

The problem is not synth fuel itself. The problem is that you need large and complex plants to produce it.

That said, i think our country needs no massive military. We have lots of Pu. 2nd largest stockpile in the world. We can build any nuclear weapon to counter invasion threats. Beside that, a very good sir force, marine and special units to defend our borders. I think thats enough we need.

Oberth and Goddard had come to the same conclusion, both published papers. One can assume that both read each other papers, as well as Peterie and Tsiolkousky.
It must have been extremely frustrating for Goddard that he was never able to look at the German design. He died before he was able to examine a V1.

You were dependent on sweden for your iron and chrome.

Synthetic fuel plant can be bombed and aren't energy efficient.

The Soviets profited from the German engineers as well. I doubt they would have made that much progress in rocketry or jet engines with out their German engineers.

    Dayton,
I think less than a decade, except for the Navy.
When I served in the Bundeswehr it had 300,000 man and 1000 tanks, Leo1 and a rather large Air Force, forgot the numbers.
It was the largest army stationed in Western Europe at that time. The industrial infrastructure and capacity for a Land Army and its needs and a Air Force and its needs are present. For a large Navy, with large ships, it would need some work on that.
    But what for ?

Their progress stalled when the German engineers died out. They had a lot of first and gave the US a serious run for their money till the end of the 60s.
Same with their jets, they were a nasty surprise for the US in Korea.
