What “rules”? WB rules don’t apply since he wasn’t a WB yet.
Where did he tell the IG that he didn’t speak to a congressional staffer?
And yes some of it’s first hand, he can’t tell you what or you’ll know who he is.

This worked so well against Kavanaugh though.

We protect whistleblowers in statute because it offers a safe place for informants to go and report abuse and lawbreaking without risk of retribution. Now that means that both credible and suspect charges will exist. It means that people of both pure and impure motives will access the same system to report. We have to investigate the accuracy of the tip first to determine whether lawbreaking or abuse happened , and we worry about motive much later before trial. If sleezeballs tell us about other sleezeballs and they tell us the truth, we still get to learn about existence of sleeze, whether they are jilted lovers, rivals for business, or just nasty petty frenemies with too much time on their hands. Advocates can expose potential motives to undercut later to positive affect, but we need to find out if 'there' is really 'there'.

Dems/Libs are full of brown matter. You really should be ashamed of yourselves. Where were you to protect them back then? As quiet as a mouse.

Obama's war on whistleblowers leaves administration insiders unscathed

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...standard-obama-david-petraeus-chelsea-manning

Five key political players enjoy ‘virtual impunity’ – while four lower-level figures are in prison or facing time

Since Barack Obama entered the White House in 2009, his government has waged a war against whistleblowers and official leakers. On his watch, there have been eight prosecutions under the 1917 Espionage Act – more than double those under all previous presidents combined.

So who leaked to the press that there are more whistle blowers, Schiff?

I have circular file under my desk where such info is stored.

It DID work, but the Trumpster nazi fanboys can't stop worshipping their lying liar orange man long enough to see that Kavanaugh was impeached. He's gone because democrats are always correct and victorious, and decent.

When someone can accuse the President of anything without proof and remain anonymous.....sure why not?

Or, there may be no whistle blowers. I wouldn’t put it past Schiff.

Is it appropriate for any President to request a foreign government launch an investigation against his domestic political rival?

The lawyer representing the first whistleblower disclosed the existence of the 2nd. I would be willing to bet that some of the other whistleblowers were willing to leak themselves just to help ensure that everyone knows they are not willing to continue protecting the corrupt acts of trump.

You appear to imply that inappropriate and illegal are synonyms. Do you see a difference?

Contacting the staff is not a violation of the rules, again, you are saying something factually inaccurate.

The IG did not ask that question, so again, you are saying something factually inaccurate.

And yes, multiple aspects of his complaint is based on first hand knowledge. So again, you are saying something factually inaccurate.

In terms of the first hand information, quotes that he saw while watching TV or read in a newspaper are still first hand knowledge. It is hearsay as well, but it is first hand information.

Also, the whistleblower notes (I believe, going a bit off memory here) that he has access to the less secure server where the phone calls are normally kept and is able to say, through first hand information, that the Ukraine phone call is not located there.

I have it on good authority, the whistleblower number one (or was it number four?) have accidentally met with pencil neck on the tarmac. They’ talked about grandchildren and the weather in Ukraine, and nothing else.
