Shouldn't be a tax. Should be a premium you have to pay, with your dollar figure being the same as mine

I say it should be a percent of income. A flat percent. I thought you loved flat tax rates rather than flat tax amounts.

But we know this is bullshit. No other first world nation on earth has this problem. It is an empirical fact that single payer systems provide better care at at a fraction of the cost of our system.

Wonder if the taxation will be lower than negotiated insurance?

I'd just worry what that taxation might balloon to it's not like you can say no or negotiate taxes

    Good point.
One more reason to go with Biden's plan to make it a public option.

If after 89 years of trying the U.S. govt can't even provide proper healthcare for 22 million veterans then how in the hell are they going to provide healthcare for 340 million?

Warren didn’t refuse to answer but rather people won’t accept her answer. She frames her answer around cost, as in does this system cost more or less than the current system?

The bottom-line is you and I will pay the full price—one way or another—for the country’s healthcare system. An important point—remember it.

For instance, Biden makes the argument using the highest cost estimate for MFA. That estimate includes inflation and our population aging.

So we hear 30 trillion over ten years, how can we pay for it? Well, the current system cost in 2018 was 3.65 trillion, how do we pay for it? Now without accounting for inflation or our aging population multiply 3.65 trillion by 10.

    What system costs more?

She’s right in framing the issue around cost first and should stick to her guns but she’s got to do a better job of it.

The lazy and disingenuous portion of this debate is the evasion of the substance to argue process. Sure, I’d like to know how we’re going to pay the 45.7 trillion over ten years for the current system or 30 trillion for MFA but the total cost needs to be front and center.

Stop the fear mongering, give us the facts, and let us decide. These one way disingenuous gotcha questions do not serve us (who does it serve?) or forward the debate. It’s freaking lazy.

Unfortunately, we’re stuck with our current media’s conflict of interest and the debate questions likely won’t improve much: conflict equals drama equals ratings. Inform the public, Huh?

all of this is just nothing to me. The proof in the pudding is that what these socialists want to do is FORCE people to buy into their idea. If it was really going to be cheaper, we wouldn't be forced to pay into it. We could just choose the public option, like we choose to use either federal express or the usps.

They don't want that, so it's just a bunch of lies.

I don't know what Warren's plan is - What I do know is that in 2017 we spent 3.5 Trillion on Healthcare in this nation - when other nations with "FREE healthcare" - free being in caps because is not free - spend roughly half of what we do - and have equivalent service.

On this basis - we should be able to provide "FREE" healthcare - for 2 Trillion/year ...a net savings if 1.5 Trillion.

free healthcare for 2 trillion a year? I think your math is a bit off.

I'll only say that if you think you can save all of this money through government then petition your state or municipal governments. I know you won't get anywhere because your math doesn't add up no matter how you look at it.

Your state or municipal governments know this, which is why they have never really gained much traction on this issue. It's just bad math, dude. Your free healthcare for 2 trillion should be a wakeup call that maybe... maybe... 2 trillion ain't exactly free.

Your second big problem is your use of the word "we". You had your chance with obamacare, and "we" didn't like it very much. So maybe, these plural pronouns that commies use should probably be limited to singular pronouns.

Just sayin'... You got your first equation so wrong that it's laughable, so the next one is probably even worse.

We screwed up when we tried to supply only a few people with everything it take to provide healthcare. Big difference from just being an insurance company.

It's not hard to support his number when you look at the cost of Medicare compared to private insurance.

What expensive health insurance premium? My premium is actually quite reasonable.

Can you put some more detail around the "few more dollars a month in taxes"? How much are we talking? I've haven't seen any concrete numbers from anyone.

Overall, I find your claim that I will come out ahead dubious.

I've been looking for someone with decent private insurance to compare to.
How much do you or your employer pay.
    Deductible?
    Maximum out of pocket?

Supply everything? The VA is merely a triage facility. What about prescription drugs, medical transportation, career replacement/retraining, elderly care, reconstruction procedures, addiction, family services, pediatrics, hospice care, in-home services, medical supplies and the countless other medical necessities needed for proper healthcare?

Is that you Barack Hussein? We have heard that lie befor. ACA is costing me more money every year. The positive is that I, as a 48 year old man now can get my birthh control pill paid for. Not really worth the extra 600 a month.
