Pelosi and the Democrats throw a temper tantrum because Trump didn't want our handful of soldiers acting as policemen to get in the middle of a war between Turkey and Kurdish militias. They used to tell us they were peace loving protectors of civil liberties. Boy were we fooled.

 

Or they could have wanted a strategic withdrawal that didn't leave our allies deserted and nuclear missiles in a now hostile country.

All else aside, if the US troops were acting as police preventing conflict between Turkey and the Kurds, how could objecting to them being withdrawn and essentially inviting Turkey to invade northern Syria, be considered warmongering?

 

That has nothing to do with Trump pulling out of Syria. If they are still there, the nukes were taken hostage in 2016 when Erdogan surrounded Incirlik during the failed coup attempt. Funny how you reassign Obama's follies to Trump with such ease.

My guess is that Erdogan told Trump his army is on its way to defend against the terrorist Kurdish faction ,,, giving Trump a choice of either involving the US in a war or getting out of the way. So, either we mobilize for war or get out of town.

The question then is whether there is anything to fight for in Syria. We currently aren't positioned to fight there with the troops we have there, s we may have had to fall back anyway.

As far as the missles, Turkey isn't going to try to keep 50 nukes. They are not that stupid. We would withdraw our forces if need be, and they would let us or be at war with the US. It's not like they can take the missiles and shoot them at us.

The 28 troops that Trump pulled were not stationed in Incirlik and were not going to keep any nukes safe from appropriation by Turkey.

Turkey wanted to go after the Kurds for over a decade, but past US involvement of a peacekeeping force kept that from happening.
