Rep. Elijah Cummings, House Oversight Committee Chair, is dead at 68

I’m waiting for leaks from the WH accusing Trump of setting up a hit on him. Innuendo and just making **** up has been the calling card for the past few years so why not continue the trend? They call him Hitler, racist, misogynist, warmonger, weak, rude, little hands, pervert, scum, xenophobic, homophobic, moron, cheater, rapist....did I miss any? Why not accuse him of murder too? It’s not like it actually hurts their cause. And when it’s proven to be another lie they can just ignore it AGAIN and move on to the next manufactured scandal.

 

Yeah he was far from perfect, as are we all. I still believe what I said that he seemed like a decent guy who had his causes he believed in and fought for - even though in my opinion many of his causes were flawed and detrimental.

 

He was a disgrace. Dishonest, corrupt, petty, hostile... the man was a vile, contemptible human being.

Good riddance.

 

No doubt MD will replace him with someone equally clueless.

 

Somebody should ask Omar that last question. Where was all the money going? The city of Baltimore received over $1.8 billion from President Barack Obama’s stimulus law. In a city of 600,000 residents, that would be $3,000 per person.

I guess he was too busy defending Hillary and more recently attacking Trump to check into where $3,000 per person was being spent in his district that obviously did little to actually help the people of Baltimore.

 

I have no respect for the mans politics or methods. But i am sure he thought he waa doing good. I don't think 68 is young in the stressful world of Washington DC.

Seems to happen here no matter which side has someone pass away. I really don’t want to post the thread from when Scalia passed(because it puts this one to shame) but it was way worse than this.

 

Yes unfortunately it does happen.

 

And it is always wrong. Its fine to debate someone's legacy, and it is wrong to sugarcoat history, but you can wait a day or two, or start a new thread that makes it clear what the purpose is. A 'RIP' thread has a unique purpose of honoring the recently deceased and it should not be a war zone. I could bump up Ted Kennedy's RIP thread and I will bet not even four posts went by before he was called a murderer.

I wouldn’t be surprised. He was one. Or at least a killer of some sort. Manslaughterer? He left that poor girl to drown and gave zero f’s about it.

 

I have always defended him against the charge of being another Hitler. He's a wanna-be Mussolini, except way too incompetent and inconsistent to be nearly as effective as Benito was. The aspiration is there, but not the skill set.

 

He was a race hustler and a slum lord... he profited off the misery of the disadvantaged and those who didn't know any better.

He was as corrupt and dishonest as the day is long.

I am not a Republican. I thought John McCain was just as bad as Cummings, or Pelisi, or any of the other contemptible swamp creatures that inhabit DC.

The world is always a better place when scum like these are gone.

 

In another thread, there is a discussion about why the country is so divided. How did we get to a point where we view the loss of a human being with partisan eyes? This isn't the first time we've seen it and, sadly, it won't be the last. But I think this thread - as well as so many others - perfectly demonstrates that the country is desperately divided.

 

We have MSM, Educational System, Online Media, and Bureaucracy that have all been taken over by Leftists that don't mind lying to everyone. This was done by design of the Left. It's their playbook.

 

Vague comments like that always raise questions. He had a procedure and planned to be back with quick recovery....also from the article. The news articles seem to announce he's dead and then jumps into Trump....just would make more sense to know what took his life.

 

So it is the fault of the left that folks on the right are dancing on Cumming's grave?
