So Trump causes an invasion of Turks into Northen Syria with the express objective to kill Kurds and/ push Kurds away from that part of Syria. After getting his butt fried for giving the Turks permission to commit genocide and commit ethnic cleansing he sends the Eunuch Pence and a Pompeo to beg the headman Turk for a ceasefire. The Eunach announces the cease fire and the "kind" Turkey man grants it for 120 hours.

Thus is a whole lot what Neville Chamberlain got from Hitler and the Germans for letting the NAZIS take Sudetenland. The Germans committed ethnic cleansing just as Turkey is doing. So history repeats itself.

Anyone happy that Trump has brought surrender and shame upon America?

I am as sick about the state of our once proud strong viable Alpha country after this Trump caused fiasco as I was when Trump smeared a good man, a warrior, and a public servant General James Mathis.

George Washington, General Patton, Teddy Roosevelt, General Sherman, Sergeant York, and Audie Murphy must be crying virtual tears of shame and disgust over what this current POTUS has done to our country.

Will there be any currently serving Senators who will gather up some testicular fortitude and go and convince this sorry excuse for a POTUS to go away and spend more time with his wives?

Gotta' love the alt-lefties distain for anything that may turn out positive for the administration. I am amazed at how many of them have taken up secret quarters in the situation room.

Putting out the fire you just allowed to be lit, but only for 5 days, is not a positive for the administration. It may be a small positive for the Kurds in Syria who have a little time to get out of the line of fire, but again, Trump put them in the line of fire in the first place after we let them be in the line of fire for us in the battle against ISIS.

The withdrawal from Syria was a smart move.

Smart like the USSR supporting N. Korea and when the U.N. forces
got to the Chinese border, evacuated leaving China to absorb the fight.

Now, Trump brings in Russia and "we" let them absorb the fight on ISIS
as they support the Assad government. And Russia to deal with Turkey & Iran, too.

Seems to me the best result we could hope for.
As of 10/17/19 or sooner, Regime Change was not realistic.

Across an immense, unguarded, ethereal border, Canadians, cool and unsympathetic,
regard our America with envious eyes and slowly and surely draw their plans against us.

Less than a week after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan ordered the intervention, Russia underlined its dominance in the region by warning of the limits of its patience with the operation. The Kremlin’s message came after President Donald Trump imposed sanctions on Turkey that left many in Congress unimpressed following his withdrawal of the last 1,000 U.S. troops from territory held by the Kurds for seven years during the Syrian war.

Pence's deal is that we evacuate the Kurds from territory that Turkey wants. Then Turkey moves in and occupies former Kurdish territory. This is shameful.

OMG! When I see stuff this detached from reality, I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Once again, Trump commits a crisis of his own making, goes in to hyper denial, gets trashed by voters, Washington, half the western world then capitulates to get himself out of trouble. This one went beyond the usual Trump F. Up. This time he gave away a chunk of Syria that was once a stable area inhabited by Kurds, which Erdogan hates. He just invited the Turks to come on in and help yourself and while your at it give Putin a big sloppy kiss.

This isn't over, Trumpers. How are you going to explain the resurrection of ISIS that Trump defeated in an hour.

Putin helped put the brakes on the Turks.
Now Putin gets to fight ISIS while balancing Iran, Turkey and support of Assad.
Sounds like a win for Trump.

You @opion8d prefer the endless, hopeless deployments approach ala Afghanistan?
I prefer letting Saigon fall in 1968 when it was obvious.

    How moderately?
    Like they . . . .
Friendly enough to hand over Syrian dominion to Iranian influence?
Trump played the Russians in our place to orchestrate out of self interests as we do.
I regard that as a great geopolitik move on Trump's part.

You miss the fact I don't want our troops over in the mid-east. ISIS can go **** themselves. They have been fighting for centuries and will continue to do so. You alt-lefties amaze me, one minute it is "lets go to war" and the next it is "our troops are leaving the area and that is horrible"
Tulsi Gappard the only hope you your side has been swept out of the democrat party. Sucks to be you.

Putin would only be concerned about Assad's gang getting caught in crossfire. I would love it is Russia gets into a major fight with ISIS. DEAD ISIS fighters and any attrition to Russian military is great for peace in the world.

US troops have been used as trip wires since the end of World War II. Their mere presence is a deterrent. That's what they are in Korea, that's what we were in Europe. That's what they were being in Northern Syria. President Trump didn't get our troops out of the way of an imminent invasion. The fact that they were no longer there is what caused the invasion. As has been said many times, the Turks have wanted to pound the Kurds for a long time. They never did until the chance of them killing Americans was removed.

Yes but there are orvwere many alive in Syria before Turkey invaded. There are 16 % Kurds in Turkey in the Anatolia region an ancient land from Biblical times.
