We negotiated a ceasefire with the Turks! The scary scary Turks. The once powerful United States armed forces are now scared of Turkey, to the point where they forced us to capitulate. A five day ceasefire, in exchange for giving up half the territory they wanted. Neville Chamberlin would be so proud. But, here's the kicker: the word "ceasefire" is not in the agreement! So that's why he sent Pompeo and Pence to make the announcement. So they would get all the ridicule! We capitulated! To the Turks, to Assad and to Isis. There is just no "soft" way of putting it. The United States is no longer the powerful nation it once was. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/syria-...-today-after-meeting-pompeo-pence-2019-10-17/
Baby Donald is jumping up and down saying........."look at me, I put out the fire I started......at least for now!! Do I get a Nobel Peace Prize now?"
Turkey has been a questionable allie for some time. Even though a member of NATO, they have leaned towards Russia. We have an Air Base in Turkey. Most of the people I have talked to who have been there did not like the assignment. They felt some open hostility by the Turks.
It's REALLY odd seeing so many Trumper/Republicans being faux doves Of course the minute Trump wants to bomb something...they'll turn on a dime
