Looking back over this exchange, other than naysaying what I've said you don't appear to have made any kind of an argument. What is your point, aside from your implied love and need for big government intervention in interstate cattle commerce? If that is your point we're done and we'll just have to agree to disagree. It is my position that adults should be free to make and be responsible for whatever deals they make with one another regardless of state lines. People who deal in good faith don't need regulation and those who deal fraudulently can be held accountable via contract arbitration and tort law.

The original intent of the clause is one thing; your interpretation, quite another.
    Yes it does.
No, the intent of the clause was to promote such commerce as would increase the prosperity of the participating states and, indirectly, of the United States. This being the case, it is impossible to understand the provision without also understanding that there is such a thing as commerce which is antithetical to that end, which Congress is empowered to restrict.
You could have said, 'Yes, driving a herd of brucellosis-infested cattle across state lines for sale passes for fair and open trade in my mind.' You're welcome.
The problem being, of course, that by then a more precise followup question had been asked, to which you responded with your typical weaselly equivocation.
    lol
Which of course it is, to anyone with a lick of sense.
    lol
Then providing a verbatim quote from the page you linked to won't be a problem, so get the hell on with it already.
No, I'm the one arguing for a sane interpretation of the commerce clause.
Premised as it is on a strawman, the question may be properly disregarded.
    lol
I'm sure it does, to someone of your...caliber.
More accurately, it created an avenue for you to obscure the point with an avalanche of diversionary drivel.
    lol

So you have no point except to nitpick and naysay, while remaining steadfastly uncomprehending of the arguments you're kibbitzing about. You're not worth my time so we're done.

It was a great to expand civil rights, but that didn’t necessitate growing government into a socialist monstrosity, seeking to micromanage every aspect of our lives.

Where are they micromanaging you? I really don't see the government controlling me, other than perhaps frowning upon my urge to drive my car a bit too fast.

But then they do provide parks. Not far from where I live they recently built a new one. It has a lot of new ideas, as to playgrounds Incorporated into the park. They even made changes to the traffic patterns around the park, to make it safer for pedestrians. I've taken my grandson there several times, and he had a good time, every time.

Is that how they micromanage us. Oh wait... I almost missed the code words there. Kind of like how Trump doesn't micromanage you. He lets you hang it all out. Even leads the way.

Well in the current campaign, so far this or that candidate has wanted to regulate or sometimes ban all forms of transportation (except for them of course), they still want to regulate what light bulbs you can use, what kind of toilet you are required to have, how you are required to run your business, what you are allowed to speak or write, how you are allowed to worship, and who you must allow into the country, provide education, housing, healthcare for, allow to vote, allow to drive, how much of your earnings and/or property you will be allowed to keep, etc. etc. etc. If you don't think that is micromanaging, well, I suppose I can't change your mind about that.

Modern American Conservatism wants the government to secure and protect our rights, person, property, and opportunities, and then leave us alone to live our lives as we choose.
