It's obvious from your posts that you have one or experiences with cars/trucks and how EV is going to solve everything. But you have people here pointing out where EV is just not going to cope because of the way the vehicles are used in their jobs.

Like I said, not only the technology doesn't exist but it would also be unaffordable because I can't buy new, I've change my van that can tow a 3.5t gross trailer. No EV van can do that and I can't wait a few years waiting for technology that I won't be able to afford.

So go on about turbines, solar power, digging up pavements etc.. but in the real world, it's not yet an alternative.

If they sort affordable technology to replace diesel, excellent. But until then, alarmists need to calm down.

Regardless of how you protest and make silly denials, everyone else reading the posts know that you have lost and are in complete denial.

That is one use for solar that works very well, I have an 80 gallon propane fired water heater and a single solar water heating panel on the west side of the roof, downstairs I installed a home brewed differential controller that measures the stored water temperature and compares it to the panel water temperature.

The controller controls a 30 Watt Little Giant hot water circulation pump, once the water in the panel exceeds the stored water temperature by 2 degrees the pump is activated and begins pushing stored water up from the bottom of the tank up to the panel, forcing heated water down into the top of the tank.

During the summer the stored water reaches as high as 190 degrees, because that is a scald hazard I installed a tempering valve which by adding cold water to the stored water flowing out of the tank it drops the temperature to a safer 120 degrees for delivery to the home.

The only time I burn propane is in the middle of winter when the sky has been overcast for at least 2 days.

This setup saves me about $300 of propane per year and the best part is I only put $450 into the system, I paid $100 for the panels (I only use 1 the other is stored as a backup) and the rest was for a pump (e-bay), plumbing and $30 for components for the home made controller (MPJA.com).

Now that is what is known as an excellent solar energy investment with a 1.5 annual ROI.

Your utterly BOGUS allegation that it is IMPOSSIBLE to compare EV and ICE for starters.

You were provided with a COMPARISON from the Dept of Energy ESTABLISHING that an EV is 3 TIMES as efficient as an ICE!

You then DEFLECTED with another of your BOVINE EXCREMENT strawman fallacies that you are incapable of substantiating.

So that is yet another aspect where you proved YOURSELF to be WRONG because NOWHERE have I ever done anything of the sort!

You were even provided with the opportunity to COMPARE the PRODUCTION of electricity to the PRODUCTION of gas and ABJECTLY FAILED to do so because doing so would just prove you WRONG yet again about your original BOGUS allegation above.

    That was easy!

Unfortunately, I think the liberal brain tends to fantasize and dismiss realistic obstacles to fantasy ideas. That simply doesn't work in real life. The obstacle to free everything? No problem. Tax the rich.
The answer to mass killings? Take the guns of the law abiding. The answer to the eternal procrastination of those not willing to work? Just send them money.

Having an idea does not mean it is a rational or good idea, that you must bring to reality in order to prove you are wise.
Think of leadership as you might a navigator. A conservative navigator moves more slowly, checks all the issues and makes a plan to reach a goal. The liberal just gets excited and says, "Sounds great! Lets go there!" and sees no need to figure out how- he just wants to hit the throttle. Works for the bumper cars at the carnival. Not so good when you run the Titanic into an iceberg.

You are trying to compare only the part after that electrical power is created with the entire process in the internal combustion engine.
You cannot compare the two because it is like saying the transmission in a car is more efficient than the engine. The electric motor is just another way to transmit power. It does not convert thermal energy to electrical energy which is required for the electric motor to work.

If you want proof of this, take a look at locomotives. They have internal combustion engines and then use the electric motors to distribute power to the drive wheels. The only difference between that an electric car, is that in the electric car, they do not take means to convert thermal energy to electricity with them. It is left at a stationary location like at a coal fired electric generating plant.

As part of the nationwide natural gas transmission system are pumping stations, they take the gas in at a lower pressure and pump it back up to 900 or so PSI and send it on it's way down the line.

Back in the day I discovered these pumping stations had large upright tanks that trapped condensates that flowed with the cooled NG entering the pumping stations, I discovered this by watching a technician drain one of the tanks, he opened a valve on the bottom of the tank and just let the stuff flow out on the ground, when it ran out and he had just gas flowing he closed the valve.

This gave me an idea, I knew what was in the pipe was gas so I figured what was coming out was some kind of liquid gas, so a few months later I dumped one of the cows water troughs, out went over to the pumping station and drained the tank into the trough and took it back home.

I took some of the liquid put it on the ground and tossed a lit match on it and it burned real hot and fast, I then filled the mower with it and it ran real nice, so I dumped the rest into my truck and it was like running high test, even when fully floored it wouldn't knock.

I drained that tank on a regular basis for about two years, then one day the pipeline company wrapped the pumping station with a six foot high chain link fence topped with barbwire.

My guess is I wasn't the only person taking home the condensation and someone got caught, and the pipeline company decided having untrained people tampering with high pressure NG pipelines was too much of a risk and fenced in their equipment, or some fool stole some equipment and caused a serious problem.

Precision watches and clocks are oiled.

    https://www.esslinger.com/oils-and-lubricants-1/

Some very expensive watches and metering instruments designed for underwater use are filled with oil.

Ressence comes to mind at $36K .

Mr Benoît Mintiens started out designing trains, aircraft cabins and medical devices before founding Ressence, a house that's turning watchmaking tradition on its head. The 'Type 5' is its first diving reference and has an ergonomic shape inspired by sea turtles to allow for superb legibility underwater. The domed dial is split into two chambers - the top one is filled with oil to counteract light refraction so it can be viewed at any angle, and the liquid suspension also reduces friction between the moving parts, keeping it highly accurate; the lower is filled with air and houses the base calibre. This piece has a lightweight grade 5 titanium case with a compression-lock-system back for winding and setting time. We offer a two-year warranty for all working parts and manufacturing faults for luxury watches. Call our Customer Care team for more information.

Pretty much- and of course because the world will end in 12 years if we don't destroy ourselves now, we can't delay any longer.

And lacking knowledge can be a dangerous thing.

Batteries decrease effiency as it requires 20 to 30 percent more power to charge a battery versus what it will deliver when discharged.

That requires increasing a already oversized to be practical PE system to an even larger system

That has just been proven to be false.

Not when driving to work every day is a 65 mile round trip, again more fallacy from a lack of understanding reality.

Obviously not very well thought through using real world numbers.

Don't let it bother you that that price has 7 times the energy content of a gallon of gasoline.

    Stick to gas.
Charge efficiency for Lipo is close to 99%.

Lithium runs about 90% but the life time cost is considerably higher than other forms of stationary storage.

    Cool!
I've built a couple of similar systems for small swimming pool heaters. Literally just tubular arrays in a black box, absorbing sunlight heat just as a garden hose will- but circulating pool water through it water based on temp differentials with a small pump. This does have limits according to weather, but for most of the service window needed, it does the job very well.

If one were to use a closed system and heat exchangers, the the system could recirculate anti-freeze solution to heat a reserve tank, and work in a wider variety of conditions.

It's what smart people do- use their heads, think it out.

Totally false, NG has one of the lowest BTU per cubic foot ratings of most fuels.

With gasoline at 100% NG is only 70% efficient and has a slightly higher cost per GGE.
