And now Turkey is saying that there is no cease fire, just a pause on their assault.

He CREATED a new ME mess on a ****ing whim by abandoning US allies and sending US troops to a different part of the ME (note: that is not home).

A pause in their assault to allow the Kurds to vacate the security buffer, after which, if accomplished as agreed, the assault will end.

Im not seeking to defend Turkey here, tbc, they are a militarily aggressive dictatorship that we should be looking to disally ourselves with. But if the Kurds don't want to fight, they can end it by disarming or withdrawing.

Trump is clearly beholden to something/someone. What or who is anyone’s guess. Although it could well be our stable genius is simply dumb as a rock.

My goodness it appears he doesn’t have the ability to contemplate the next second.

All that a cease fire does is REWARD Erdogan for INVADING and OCCUPYING a part of Syria that he now does NOT have to DEFEND because of the cease fire.

Your BLOTUS seriously effed this one up in ALL respects!

Yeah I suppose the last week is comparable to the last decade of Obama surges and red lines. Lol

If Obama's progress in the ME is the baseline, I'd say were doing pretty well.

...or our allies can continue to face a wholesale slaughter because trump decided to abandon them on a whim.

It is when the comparison is a surge in Afghanistan, civilians being gassed in Syria, and ISIS drowning people in cages.

Fact is, we got our troops out.

If Trump had sent more troops over, youd have been the first on here bitching about it.

If their conditions are not met..

That is typical of any cease fire....

You discuss a timespan of several years.

Meanwhile, in the span of a WEEK after Trump abandoned our allies, there was a surge into Syria that resulted in thousands of civilians being slaughtered and tortured, and the release of a 1000 ISIS prisoners. And you think it just stops there? Trump has ALSO ensured that every single ****ing ally in the world now second guesses American commitment. Why the **** should they not believe that Trump might abandon them on a whim as well?

And the fact is, we just sent our troops to a different part of Syria AND then sent another 1200 over to Saudi Arabia. They are not out. They just got shifted around to make room for Turkey to kill our allies on a ****ing whim.

Trump DID send more troops over and you are still thanking him for "getting our troops out."

How many times do you need to be informed that hardly any of the troops are out of Syria? Those that have been moved are now in Iraq. And he has sent over 14,000 troops to Saudi Arabia since May 2019

So you would vote in favor of war?

Just trying to clarify your position.

Or would you have drawn a red line in the sand then backed down once they crossed it?

No, I would not vote for war, but I would defend our troops and our allies from Turkey. If Turkey was willing to invade even after being told that our troops would remain in the area (something that they bluffed and refused to actually do for more than a year), then Turkey would have earned the military reprisal coming their way.

Are you in favor of abandoning our allies on a whim?

Just trying to clarify your position.

Obama did not want to cross into NK just like Obama did not want to salute a NK general.
