Why would the Repubs want a ten cent hike on taxes if Repubs are all about cutting taxes?

There is no such thing as a private tax. What you are calling a private tax is actually an expense. I get it. I know that she means that taxes will go up while expenses will go down, and I also know that she is simply trying to avoid the sound bite of her acknowledging the obvious which is that taxes will go up in a massive way. She is free to try her slight of hand tactic. I dont think it will serve her well in a general election. Time will tell.

No one has shown any facts about defensive medicine. The official cost of doctor's insurances against lawsuits is about 5%. We are talking about price difference in 100%.
That is 100% true but, (private tax) i.e. expenses imposed by monopolies (especially in health care) are so high, that people have no choice other then to vote for Democrats.

Private companies don’t have taxes. You always have a choice not to vote for dependence and poverty

Oh yeah, and I was going to get to keep my doctor, if I liked my doctor, and keep my plan, if I liked my plan, and save $200/month!

The DMV controlling my access to healthcare, yeah, give me that! Their customer service is incredible. And my doctor answering to folks like Kamala Harris, rather than me, about my health care, yeah, sign me up for that!

Goverment workers who hate me for holding views they misconstrue, in a movement that denounces the right who graduated from schools where there are speech codes against conservative constitutionalism, yes, let's let them decide if I get a surgery or medication that I need.

We saw how European health care mandated the death of a couple's child because it "really was for the best" the Government assured the couple that vehemently disagreed.

Why would the US Electorate trust Government Workers with that vast power over their lives?

Yes, there is no official term private tax, but the system where government makes laws that give private companies a status of monopolies can be interpreted as a tax.
Since the expense is a result of a government policy it is in fact private tax.

Yes, but then you vote for a power of Medical, Pharma and Health Insurances cartels.
Their "taxes" is much more higher then taxes imposed by the government.

trump did, and the gop members in Congress, this was quite recent so its fresh in my memory and was much appreciated by this middle class joe.

I tend to prefer that over a candidate that wants to raise my taxes.

I disagree, my premiums and co-pays are quite reasonable, zero chance the Gov't helps me out there, less than zero actually.

Come on man, you know that people could not keep their doctors because of sabotage initiated by Republicans.
Actually no one have ever suggested to eliminate private health care. Medicare for all means to remove ban on purchase of government insurance.
Yes that will put Blue Cross/ B shield, Cigna etc out of business, but don't you think it is stupid to pay for business that does not produce any value and only depend on the government.

It is because either your employer pays for that, or you have got some kind of government job.

    It is figurative expression.
If you pay expenses that caused by direct result of government policies it is in fact a tax.

No it’s not. Are you referring to the price insurance companies charge? Or the cost a hospital or doctor charges?

employer, same on that has provided coverage for 32 years. I love my coverage, no thanks to Medicare. Gov options wont save me money, wont save me any taxes, and doubtful that it will increase my salary.

screw that. im firmly entrenched in the middle class, Warren's (Bernie) plan wont save me a penny. it will likely cost me 3k a year, maybe more. at least Bernie is honest, it will cost me money and he thinks I'll be fine. I will be fine, I'll just save less for retirement & drive my 20 yr old car a little longer.

Private insurance is not a tax. Do you really believe that? Or is that some stupid way to equate insurance payments to a tax so the idiot left can’t tell the difference.
So tell me. If my private health insurance is a tax, will I go to jail if I don’t pay?

She won’t answer because bottom line she doesn’t give a **** about the middle class. Not to mention the idea of Medicare for all is a stupid idea.

    Nonsense.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said at the first Democratic primary debate that they would favor eliminating private insurance.

    Also Bernie supports this.

    https://www.cnbc.com/2019/06/26/dem...private-health-insurance-at-first-debate.html

Most of the rest allow for Private Insurance "for now."
I could get behind that were it not for the subsidies and price fixing. They "reduce" what they will pay for particular procedures, which raises the price for everyone else for those procedures.
Oh, I don't know. I know a guy who is covered by one of those folks who had 2 heart surgeries, the hospital cost was over $100k per and he paid one $250 deductible and got a deadly birth defect fixed in his heart. He doesn't have any medications, no lingering issues, no lifestyle restrictions, his heart operates as if he never had the defect, and it was an issue that could have easily, and without warning, killed him. It's amazing that we have such options available to us, and so affordable. I think the next group of sixty year old Americans will likely be the healthiest ones that we have ever seen. These guys are rock climbing, running marathons, playing golf, enjoying active sex lives thanks to viagra, what previous generation had all that? Yet, if you look at the fake news, why its terrible and we have to change everything!

This is nothing other than double talk. As I said from the beginning, I do not believe that general election voters will respond well to such a tactic. Time will tell.
