Disagree. I will always put my faith in Scripture, just like Jesus did. The Holy Spirit is the teacher. I don't put my faith in man's wisdom. The Scripture says man's wisdom is folly.

Tosh. You are where you are today because of man's 'wisdom'. You believe what you believe because you have been taught to believe it, just like Jesus. If Jesus were alive today he would have a radical change of mind knowing what we know now of the OT. and ancient history. The Preacher didn't believe because it was true. He believed because he had been taught it was true. There's a vast difference between the two. The early church accepted things that we know today are wrong. If you believe in Scriptures then you accept the creation story, Adam, Noah and the flood which covered the whole earth. .

As a human being would feel who was dying in tremendous suffering.

Makes sense to me. I don't understand the problem

Looks like our view and ideas about this son of man is very different?

The passage does not indicate that He took it that far. He presumably had some idea of what He was in for from the beginning, which is presumably why He prayed His guts out in Gethsemane. But when the idea began to become the ugliest of realities, He cried out like an innocent man, which He was, about to experience such suffering as Job could never have imagined, which He was; yet for all that, He rejected the advice of Job's dingbat wife, and refused to curse God, as anyone else would have.

Of course the passage indicates that Jesus believed that his God had forsaken him. He probably thought God was going to come down and do a few miracles - hurl a few lighting bolts - and rescue him. During his last moments he realized that his "faith" that God would rescue him was mistaken.

I agree .. and like your description. It is very believable that a man would feel abandoned by God.

It is also believable that a man with a spark of the essence of God in him would feel abandoned by God.

Jesus claimed to that mountains could be moved with faith. Perhaps that faith was shaken at the end. Speculation.

What is not believable is that God would feel abandoned by God.

The problem with the last words of Jesus on the cross - is that they refute modern Trinity Doctrine.

This is not something that has gone unrecognized in Biblical Scholarship - nor has the fact that despite using Mark - and likely Matt - as source documents .. The authors of Luke and John change the last words of Jesus.

John in particular - as the author of John attempts to reconcile and explain the nature of the Divinity of Jesus. To the author of John Jesus is a man - he has not yet morphed into God (God the Father) - but, his divinity is explained and advanced. It takes another 2 centuries for Jesus to gain the position of God - God the Father.

In Mark Jesus is divine as a man of 30 at Baptism. The author of Matt - using Mark as a source doc - introduces the Virgin Birth and adds a lineage back to David and most importantly .. the smoking gun for the resurrection promise - Jesus returns in the Flesh. Something not found in Mark.

In John the divinity of Jesus advances.. he is preincarnatate ... existing with God prior to Birth. Jesus is "The Logos" - mistranslated in modern Bibles as "the word".

The Greek Audience - is all familiar with the Logos in a religious sense - some vestige of - The Emissary between Man and God.

Jesus then spoke Gods Word through the Holy Spirit - and in this respect Jesus was "the word" of God.

The "unforgivable sin" - IMO - is claiming to speak the word of God - falsely.. putting oneself in the position of the Logos and uttering as if ones words are defacto correct - when that is not necessarily the case.

As soon as "God says" comes out of one's mouth - one should be very careful .. IMO.

but I digress - The problem with the last words of Jesus is that they refute Modern Trinity Doctrine.

The Jesus character was a composite of the three main Jewish rebel leaders. He has attributes of all three and his death also signifies the destruction of Jerusalem in the 70s. It is a political story written in religious symbolism. When the fairy tale is analyzed against actual historical events it is easy to see the connection.

Where do you get this stuff? Will you just believe anything so long as it contradicts with Judeo-Christian beliefs?

On the contrary, Jesus did say those words but they were not his last. Misinformation.....

Study carefully the story of David written in the Bible. . Psalm 22 is his story, not Jesus'. Jesus merely, supposedly, quoted the first verse. Of course, the story of the tribal king David, if he actually existed, was exaggerated to give the Jews a Hero.

Aha yes... do you mean his words to John / Yohannan..... "behold your mother" and to his mother...... "behold your son," which meant that John / Yohannan should take Mary / Myriam the mother of Yeshua into his home?

    https://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/jhn/19/27/s_1016027

    Jhn 19:26

When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!

Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

I have read that the Prophet Isaiah put the final touches on
much of the Jewish scriptures and.......
Isaiah was inspired to cover some of the sins and errors of
King David that can be profoundly encouraging to those of us who
feel that we are somewhat without hope.

The Jewish Bible covers the sins of Jewish heroes unlike any
type of literature in any other nation........
Having the final edit done by somebody like Isaiah... for a large portion of
those writings automatically puts them at a pretty amazing level of objectivity.....

Oh dear. Where on earth did you get that from. The Jewish Scriptures were written long after Isaiah's death. Some of the Scriptures in Daniel concern the period of the Maccabeans. That was 2nd century BCE.
The Scriptures were started around 600 BCE and continued as time went on.

Did you want to try and back up your claim - or should we just believe every claim made by posters as if it is God's word :)

    Short attention spans.

Especially in this day and age, seems like the majority of people are too lazy to read 10 pages and really give some thought to what they are reading when it involves a religious text.

Also, these aren't something someone can speed read their way through. It needs time to be digested.

Now, because of your inability to comprehend and follow the discussion you throw this "bait" out there to tease. LOL Not gonna take it.....say what you will I know my religion as well as the next person. You behavior in this matter is very lacking.

    You have a good day!

The Jesus character said that he had only been sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Why should any Gentile care what he said when he got nailed?

James and John could call fire down from heaven. Why didn't they save him? Maybe they were all just full of BS?

It is you who is misinformed. Luke used Mark as a source document. Christianity had changed since the writing of Mark - and with it ideas related to the divinity of Jesus. These new ideas did not coincide with the picture of the Messiah being forsaken by God in his last moments .. and so Luke struck that passage out and wrote in a new ending.
