The emoluments clause is "phony" in respect to how many people (including you IIRC) reference it. The emoluments clause was written forbidding gifts and titles by foreign governments to be given to U.S. federal officials. It was never meant to nor is it written as such forbidding a federal official (or a president) to conduct profit making business with a foreign government.

The opposition party really needs to be censored. They are out of control.

Democrats are loyal only to the Constitution! This is why Democrats in power know that they would never be able to form a Trump-like cult that would place loyalty to a politician before loyalty to the Constitution. So they need to be more careful about what they do than Republican "idols" do. It doesn't matter if your name is Obama, Clinton, Warren, Sanders or Biden... Democrats will turn their backs on you if there is so much as a whiff that you are acting against the Constitution.

Trump should ignore the house completely and draft executive orders to help the american people. They are moochers and if I was Trump, I wouldn't waste my time.

Impossible, because they wanted Trump impeached since day 1 and he wasn't even in office yet. They are despicable.

"Trump over the weekend reversed himself and canceled plans to hold the meeting of world leaders at his property after numerous critics questioned whether the move would violate a constitutional clause that forbids a president from profiting from foreign governments or receiving any money from the U.S. government except for an annual salary."

The Republicans spent eight years calling Obama and Democrats all sorts of colorful names and making many baseless accusations.

Still waiting for Trump's "P.I." to report on his "shocking findings" on Obama's Hawaiian birth certificate. Lol.

Sure! And I'll join you in the fight to accomplish that as soon as we're done impeaching, removing and putting Trump in jail, which is where he belongs.

As I said: I'm not loyal to anybody other than the Constitution. Not Schiff, not Pelossi.... Just watch me stab them in the back once their usefulness has expired.

So you want a King, not a President. How you going to feel when it dawns on you that the power you hand to the President stay with the office once Trump is gone. Do you really want a President Warren to have the power you want Trump to have? Crazy town.

None of those whack job candidates can beat Trump. Free stuff and open borders. I don't think that's the american people cup of tea.

No. We stop it here and now. No imperial President. The Constitution guaranteed that Congress would have the power of the purse and the power of Executive oversight. Don’t like it? Then find yourself another country.

"Kings" do not have to stand for election every four years and are not limited to 8 (or 10) years in office in total.

    Presidents are. Stop being ridiculous

Yes, but I wish we could do something about do nothing congresses. They don't want to accomplish if the other party controls the WH.

We can. It is called an "election" and we have them every two years for the entire house and one third of the Senate.

    The tools are there.

I’m only considered a liberal by Trump FanBoys. I’m a lifelong hunter and sportsman, never took a dime of government money, own my own homes and believe in balanced budgets.

And like the Founding Fathers, I don’t believe that a President should have more authority than Congress.

I don't believe they should have less either. And being a sportsman and hunter, never taking any government money, owning your own home and believing in balanced budgets does NOT necessarily mean you are not a liberal. It absolutely does not make you conservative.

It was meant to prevent a President from using his extraordinary powers for any type of profit or gain. If Trump buys time on TV networks and all media for anybody who wants to host the G-7 meeting to advertise for the same amount of time as he has promoted his businesses, then he would not be abusing his power. Otherwise, it's impeachable.
