I'd vote for Tulsi whether she was a Democrat or third party.

She’ll pull more disaffected Trump voters than she will Democrats, so she could just as easily help them to defeat Trump.

Actually wish they could get a viable third party off the ground.

She would take votes from both parties. Which would get hurt the worst is above my pay grade.

I think you could be right about that. Too early to tell. Gabbard does have a 24% favorable rating among Republicans vs. 23% from the Democrats and independents. Pretty even across the board regardless of party affiliation. Her problem is roughly 45% of all Americans don't know who she is. So she does have lots of room to push those favorable's up.

Interesting that 37% of democrats have an unfavorable view of her, that is liable to go up with all the attention she been getting lately. Especially from Hillary Clinton supporters. Gabbard isn't far left enough for the democratic party.

Just looking at the raw numbers, it is very possible if she is a third party candidate, she could hurt Trump more. One thing is for sure, Tulsi will be better known than any Libertarian Party candidate. I do find it very interesting that close to twice as many democrats dislike her than like her. Compare her like/dislike to the top three Democrats candidates among Democrats only, Gabbard 23% of democrats like her, 37% dislike, Warren 75% of Democrats like her, 14% dislike her, Sanders 70% like, 20% dislike, Biden 70% like, 22% dislike.

If I didn’t think voting for her on a third party ticket might possibly give trump the win I would most likely do so. Not taking the chance.

Which is why we will never have a third party unless we eliminate FPTP.

I think that after this next election might be the perfect time to set up a third party. Either we get Trump again, and he only was able to get 27% of registered voters last election, and lots of Republicans and Independents hate him - or we get a far left Democrat, and that's going to piss off a bunch of centrists Independents.

There is an entire swath of moderates that is no longer being represented by EITHER party.

Democrats screwed up. She would roll over Donald in a general. Republicans would shift assuming she stayed fairly centrist, but nope!!! Not extreme enough for the far left. We wouldn’t even have to deal with this clown show impeachment Bs right now. Democrats just had to NOT be crazy and nominate someone sane. That’s all they had to do was end all of this easily. Nope. They had to go full ret&rd and lose their minds.

A smart, well spoken yet tough, attractive woman who’s voice doesn’t sound like nails on a chalkboard could wipe the floor with Anyone. But Democrats just want her to go away because she’s not crazy enough. Nice job guys. Well done. Nominate another ancient old grandpa or grandmother that couldn’t give a **** what happens to the country since they’ll be dead in 8 yrs.

She really doesn't belong in the modern radical DNC. She should run as a third party, or join the big tent RNC

Actually there are already other parties. Libertarian and Green, to mention just two.

In Florida voting last time around, the voter had 9 choices for POTUS.

I see what you are saying, but the reality is that they have basically no chance of winning, voters have been too polarized into R or D.

And I say that as an Independent who would love to see a viable third party. "Viable" being the key word.....

I'm a Floridian. I also don't like that you must be registered for a party to vote in the primaries. Folks like myself have no say in the primaries.

Even if Democrats had the election in the bag, proceeding with the impeachment process is the absolute right thing to do. Pass or fail, Congress must investigate and hold the president accountable if wrongdoing is uncovered, as it appears it has been. Has nothing to do with the election and everything to do with having a standard.

The RNC does not promote it's women or minority candidates. What - they now have is exactly ZERO Asian/Indian/Pacific Islanders in Congress (DNC has 16), and less than a third of the women that the DNC has.

Given that Tulsi is from a Hindu family, the RNC wouldn't get down off their Christian high horse to support her. The RNC's "big tent" is taking white dudes who are from ages 40 to 50 AND white dudes who are 50 to 70 ... that's about as diverse as it gets.

That’s laughable, Nikki Haley, Condi Rice, McDaniel (the current chair of the party), sanders, Flores etc etc

The first woman in congress was a member of the RNC

Has more to do with a narrative to use for political gain. They can’t run on what they’re offering because it’s pretty damn extreme. They can only run on not electing Trump. If Democrats actually had a standard Hillary would have been kicked off the ticket in the last election for destroying evidence and Biden wouldn’t be on the ticket now because he’d be a racist if he had an R before his name and would be crucified for his sons dealings . But there are no standards. Democrats get a pass. Just an Observation.

Because the RNC generally doesn’t use AA as a qualification, since that’s stupid. If you vote mostly according to race or gender, I won’t say it. But it rhymes with bassist and bexist :)

Yeah, Tulsi might do well to remember that Vince Foster (who used to be thick-as-fleas with Hillary before he became a 'liability') committed suicide by shooting himself in the head, TWICE, with the wrong hand -- with a revolver that had NO fingerprints on it....

Nevertheless, it is unfortunate that Tulsi was one of the irresponsibly 'bleeding heart' Democrat candidates who pledged to give healthcare services and other welfare to ILLEGAL ALIENS, "if they paid taxes". Really, Tulsi? And exactly how many of the hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens pay taxes?! How the hell would you even begin to 'track' them since they all use counterfeit ID's to begin with?! :roflol:

Who with any sense would vote for someone who makes a nonsensical "pledge" like THAT? :spin:

Pure statistics say that if you're not using race or gender or religion to determine candidates, then you end up with representation that falls more along the lines of the Democrats than of Republican Representation.

So please - tell me how Republicans have ended up with only 9% of their representatives in Congress being women when women make up 50% of the population? You really got to work at it to have so few women in Congress.

How about electing/selecting people based on just merits/qualifications?
