Pretty much. It's common practice for both parties when they already have the votes necessary to pass legislation and want to protect their members in vulnerable districts or states.

I will agree that the Democrats overstepped in accusing Trump of collusion with Russia without evidence. But it wasn't baseless either since the Russians DID interfere in the election to the benefit of Donald Trump. He just didn't help them do it, as far as we know.

But the Ukraine scandal is far from BS. Trump did it and we all know it.

What "evidence that a crime may have been committed". May have been committed? Is that really the new standard and a good precedent for the political future of the Republic?

In fact Russians tried to help Hillary and we have solid evidence of that.

    Did what?

What, finally found something to take to the bank? Weren't Liberals trying to do everything possible to impeach Trump since before he had a chance to do anything?

It's like Obama being awarded Nobel before actually earning it, in anticipation of his future deeds, right?

    TRUMP!!! :frustrated:

Stop patronizing us, will yea? You know as well as we do, Dems do not need any evidence or any investigation for this matter. Trump has been investigated, tried and convicted on election day 2016.

They just strategically waited for 2 and a half years until evidence came that may warrant impeachment before starting the actual investigation. Those Dems are clever!

Peggy Noonan said it best today:

For Trump supporters, who don't possess a line he could cross that would turn them against him, the answer will of course be "no".

“Do the American people believe this an impeachable offense?”

Looking at America divided polls into which I myself put no 2 cents, I see that they haven't really moved in 3 months and the number of actual Americans believing Trump should be impeached, contracted. What does it tell you? :)

Give these two a chance to change parties or still go after them in the next election and get rid of them. I am sure they both got permission from the witch to vote the way they did.

What process is Trump due from a House impeachment inquiry, exactly? Feel free to cite the Constitution or any other relevant statute on the matter. You can also look at historical precedent. Whatever you do, do examine the facts for once.

The Democrats who dissented were from Trump districts and are as afraid of losing their seats as the Republicans are. Trump remains wildly popular among Republican voters despite his high crimes and misdemeanors because, sadly, they are still in a fever and choose to remain ignorant of the facts before their faces.

What polls are you looking at that haven't changed regarding impeachment since the Ukraine scandal began?

    You're welcome.

I'd laugh too if I was as worried as you are that old dirty Donald finally made a mess he can't lie himself out of.

That is exactly the problem, you don't start impeachment proceedings to find something wrong. You start impeachment because you have found the president has done something wrong.

    Who cares?

What process are the American people due from Congress?

That is the question that should be asked. While they are busy disenfranchising millions of voters with their political machinations, and we pay their salaries for doing so, nothing of value is being done.

I know beyond any doubt that Biden is guilty of Quid-pro-quo in the Ukraine, because he openly bragged about it on video!

If the Dems are so interested in preventing abuse by Quid-Pro-Quo with foreign governments, why don't they start a prosecution of Biden?

And Schiff, who is openly guilty of Ukrainian Quid-Pro-quo with a small arms merchant.

And Pelosi, who is openly guilty of Ukrainian Quid-pro-quo with a couple of energy companies.

IF Quid-Pro-Quo is really the issue, there are a number of high level Democrats who are far more guilty of it, in the Ukraine, and China, than anything done by Trump... which Trump didn't really do, he is only falsely accused of having done it!

And surprise, Surprise, SURPRISE!, the very Democrats who are KNOWN beyond any doubt to have committed Quid-Pro-Quo in the Ukraine, are those leading the attempt to impeach Trump!

This is nothing less that an attempted coup, so the corrupt as hell Democrats won't be held accountable for their crimes!

Well, with a Democrat Representative in Red District, this is a "Swing" district, but, I think Dems may be confused on what is meant by the "Swing" vote.

Well, to be fair, they did try other avenues of impeachment but never succeeded. Once this latest attempt fails they may still have time for another one or two attempts before the next election. They do have stick-to-it-iveness, which can be an admirable quality, and don't seem to mind looking like damned fools, which is not.
