I live in a very modest condo in a very wealthy town here in Pa.To rent one of the two bedroom one and a half bath condos in my complex it costs $2,000 per month. We here in Pa.use the Federal Minimum wage of $7.25 per hour. How in the hell can anyone earning $7.25 per hour afford to rent ANYTHING???let alone an apartment.Even if it were raised to $15 an hour they still cannot afford the rent let alone any other of life's necessities.

none of your business but let's say i do fall in the 0-60k or 60-120k and i'm saying all of this. You know what this makes me? a person of integrity and character who holds himself accountable for his lack of success and not others. We humans act on impulse way too often and that impulse for someone in lower-middle class is to want to TAKE from others at the top.

the next time you run into someone who has a lot more than you, before you murmur expletives under your breathe at that individual ask yourself the question -'Why am i not him' and most than likely, the answer will be because of you and you alone. Don't knock those who do what you can't do... look yourself in the mirror and give yourself a much needed reality check.

    At least you’re honest.

I don’t hate rich people. And I doubt that most liberals hate rich people out of envy, though they are undoubtedly envious.

i know it's hard.. i know, cause you have being brainwashed by the left.

'A 2017 survey from Fidelity Investments found that 88 percent of millionaires are self-made. Only 12 percent inherited significant money (at least 10 percent of their wealth), and most did not grow up in exclusive country club neighborhoods.'

it's becoming a trend... and politicians are feeding off it to win elections. It's putting us on a path where the least productive and most ignorant (in most cases due to their own behaviors and choices) are going to start dictating more, at the expense off those who actually are educated and produce. Take a look at Venezuela, the problem there isn't just socialism, it's the people ruling the Country - largely ignorant and military. Look at Zimbabwe, a Country who was once prosperous but after the poor and ignorant basically waged war on the rich and productive, the country has turned to crap. We are on that path...

According to Elizabeth Warren nobody ever attains wealth by themselves. She apparently thinks that hard work and sacrifice count for nothing and that your success was paid for by the sweat of others. You can't make this stuff up, here's a couple of quotes,

“You built a fortune in America getting your goods to market on roads and bridges that all of us helped pay to build. “You are protected by police and firefighters – all of us paid their salaries.”

This is just a bunch of Socialist mumbo jumbo, a rationale for wealth redistribution. Does she really believe that sitting in her multi million dollar digs in Boston? How stupid does she think we are? We are mostly governed by a bunch of lunatics already, imagine her in the White House. It's funny, the libs love their tech gadgets and idolize Jobs and Gates, Zuckerberg and Bezoz but screw the little guy whose struggles finally paid off. The left's disdain for the successful is extended only to those who don't donate millions to their perverse cause.

The short answer is they can't.

At an old apartment I used to live at, most of the tenants were undocumented alien families crammed into tiny apartments. I'm talking about 2 very small rooms, with 2 bunk beds in each room, and someone else sleeping on a fold-out couch. Sometimes a baby crib on top of that.

There was one 2-bedroom apartment where 8 Chinese men lived.

A lot of Millennials are having to live with their parents, or move out to a different part of the country where costs are lower. (Which is not easy either, since many of them will lack a support system for dealing with emergencies)

It wasn't uncommon for the Hispanic tenants to be composed of extended families. The parents were both gone all day at work, and the grandpa would look after the children while they were gone. We are talking about a grandpa who probably slept in the same room with 3 of the children. That constitutes their retirement. At least they don't get lonely.

I see them constantly defend the rich getting mega tax cuts and wanting more, yet you never hear them demand the same for the working class

just look at their idea of a middle class tax cut they just passed, is was a permanent corporate tax cut with a temporary carrot for the middle class

There's a lot of truth to what you said here, way more than many folks want to personally admit.

There's the misconception among so many people that most jobs that are paying decent money are normal 9-5 40 hr a week jobs. Most folks don't just wake up middle class or even rich, getting there requires A LOT of sacrifices and hard work and continuous hard work to maintain it. All a lot of folks see is the guy driving a new Porsche, they don't see what that guy has to do for a living in order to afford to buy that. I too am an example of that, I have a cool job that pays decent enough and I've lost count of the number of people who've told me I'm lucky or something. I have members of my own family who flat out HATE me for the fact that I am way more successful than they are and aren't shy about letting me know about it.

That's because people only see the surface and the end result, they don't see what it actually took for me to get what I have now nor what is required of me to keep it. All my envious family sees is the money and the cool job attached to it, they don't see the enormous sacrifices I make in order to have this stuff. My entire career is pure stress and long hours and the sacrificing of most of my social life in order to keep it. But in turn I am paid quite well which allows me to have the things that causes much of my family to hope I fry in Hell. I'm not even at the top of the food chain in my career field, I could have chosen an alternate path in this field that would have me doing the same job with even more responsibilities and even more stress but also pays a lot more. I said no, yet other people say yes, and because of that there are people younger than I am who have a lot less experience than I do who are making a lot more money than I am because they chose to take the rougher road. I don't hate them, they work harder than me they should get paid more. I didn't want the even greater amount of work and stress that comes along with that greater paycheck. They took it on, good for them they've earned the check they receive.

I'm honest about it, there's a certain amount of my life and my sanity that I am willing to sacrifice for a paycheck and what I have right now is pretty much the upper limit for me personally. What irritates me are those who get irritated by me and believe they too should be allowed to have what I have without having to actually DO what I do. I'm doing quite well for myself yet there are millions of people out there who are doing a hell of a lot better than I am. I'm not sitting here envious of them or mad at them for having more money than me because I'm not under the false impression that the guy who is even more upper middle class than I am probably WORKS harder than I do.

Your statement of "Why am I not him?" is absolutely correct in my case. I'm "not him" because while I would love the money he has I don't WANT TO DO what he probably does to earn that much money. This is true for most people up and down the economic food chain, the problem however is exactly what you said, most people just don't want to actually admit that.

Such bullshit. Work 80 hours a week and don't buy toys. It's easy. I know because I've done it. I have ZERO sympathy for ANYONE claiming they can't do this or can't do that and they deserve a living wage.

maybe at $7.25/hr they shouldn't be trying to rent an apartment for 2k a month.

$7.25/hr for a college grad who has no experience in workforce seems fine to me.

7.25/hr is roughly, what, 14-15k a year? That's more than the average annual income of about 40 Countries around the world. So the poor in USA average an annual income that is higher than the average annual income of the entire population in 40 Countries. In that list = Poland, Croatia, Argentina, Turkey, Colombia, China, Mexico and many more.

The US creates an illusion that we are so bad because we have so many wealthy people.

This is what Bernie and the socialists don't understand, even the poor are quite ok vs how millions and millions live around the world... The US has created an entitlement culture where everyone thinks they are entitled to a high standard of living. Take that person making min wage and they are making more money than the avg person in even China!

Elizabeth Warren is not even a sane individual, pretending to be native American when she has less native american indian in her than the average caucasian in US, proven by DNA analysis. I'm serious, there something wrong with her, even when she talks, looks a little off.

The democratic party is in shambles, has become a disgrace. It's all about attacking anything big and powerful. Big bank = bad, rich = bad, powerful Country like Israel = bad.

They defend terrorists and nations who stone women for adultery and commit unimaginable human rights abuses yet demonize Isreal, who is the symbol of democracy in Middle East, why? Israel is powerful. PLA pay palestinians to kill Jews and somehow democrats side with these people!. A rich person who respects the laws, loves all people and earns his money via hard work, talent and taking risks = bad but a drug dealer is a victim of society and shouldn't be called a predator and a murderer or rapist should have right to vote. I'm telling ya, this party will be the end of USA.

Trump employs illegals at his hotels and resorts.

I have never heard him talk about employers of illegal immigrants.. He'd rather build a wall.

There are a lot of conservatives who are of the lower classes and on drugs, just as there are a lot of those who lean left. There are as many, if not more left leaning "self made millionaires" as there are right leaning ones. Your argument makes no sense to me.

VZ was run by the very wealthy elite.. and Zimbabwe went to hell because of twenty years of rolling droughts.

Zim was NEVER the breadbasket of Africa.

They always Carnegie built libraries in small towns all over America. He promoted from within and it was literally possible to rise from janitor to plant manager and beyond if you were willing to do the Work The dude who is current CEO of Walmart started out unloading trucks for Walmart.
You can still go from rags to riches in this country but it's no where near as easy as it used to be because of government.
