Baby boomers who cried “Don’t Trust Anyone Over 30” during the Vietnam War should be scared to death of millennials. Because, at least among the Twitterati, they hate us

Millennials (and to some extent their Gen-X and Gen-Z brethren) hate their elders with a ferocity never before seen in our culture. Egged on by the media-savvy likes of 16-year-old Greta Thunberg, they blame prolonged heat waves on boomers who supposedly stood by and cheered as the Earth went up in flames. The phrase “OK BOOMER” has now become young people’s “repeated retort to the problem of older people who just don’t get it,”

This is totally news to me if it's even "news"

Sounds to me like a newspaper article trying to stir up trouble because they can

Some will claim this doesn't make the slightest bit of difference, but there's also a huge racial demographic difference between the older and younger generations.
As we all know, something like 70% of the older generation are White, whereas something like only 45% of the younger generation are. The difference is even greater in certain regions of the country.

Thunberg is a fraud and a mentally/emotionally damaged puppet for the left wing extremists. While she claims to be a global warming activist, the people who support her fly around the globe to set up her events and cater to her whims. Between her and her support group, her carbon footprint is YUGE. Plus she's rich; there's money to be made being a deranged alarmist. Kudos to her parents.

When having an argument with someone, i don't know about you but if they resort to physical characteristics of the person rather than the substance of the argument, I chalk them up as low iq and not worth my time. Same goes for online when people pull the Grammer crap instead of talking substance

And Facebook and Youtube comment section...... I'm noticing a trend here!!!

People lose respect for others online because of the impersonal way about being online. Whats funny is you almost always see people letting out their inner a hole and almost never see people trying to be nice and truly trying to connect with people.

We can help change the world one positive interaction at a time yet instead we go for letting out our inner demons on random people.......

Yes it's very important to make everything about race.

Do you know why some people prefer 10 speeds over 12 speeds? totally racial.

garlic salt vs garlic powder? omg it's all about race.

plastic or paper? dont even ask bro.

and of course now apparantly young people hate old people not due to age, but because of their awful white skin, yucky whites in all their whiteness, throwing up a little bit in my mouth just thinking about white people, yuck, so gross. gag me with a spoon.

yip, the forums are only a tiny bit better, mods help a bit. But yes keyboard Cowboys are sad, they wouldn't say 1% of the stuff they say online to somebody's face.

I genuinely believe i come on here to interact with above average intelligence people to just broaden my horizons. Where some people come here and online in general to stroke their ego and as a way to vent frustrations from their everyday life. THAT is sad because i couldnt imagine the thought that online would be the best way to vent frustrations about life but maybe I'm luckier than most that I have someone to just freely talk about my frustrations and failures (my father)

not you...... For the most part I've been talking about the Dr. Jekyll Mr Hyde type behavior that these social media platforms tend to create in us.

Nope, I have 3 girls, 1 just graduated, 1 is in 10th grade and the other is in middle school. I have heard them use the phrase several times. I have had to tell them repeatedly that I am not a "Boomer", and explain to them what a "Baby Boomer" is. They are using it as a way to call people old and out dated. Hell, I graduated HS in the late 90s, I am NOT old LOL

I've been on this board for almost 5 years and during that time you sorta get to know people, relationships, however thin, are built and there's often a certain give and take between us. But the problem with typing out a message rather than saying it is the message can be mistaken as an insult or slur, which might not be the case. While I can try to type out something I think is funny or full of snark, there's no way of knowing how the person I'm responding to will read it. Worse yet, a mod might not understand the give and take between two members and think something's wrong. It's gotten me in trouble on this board, so in order to stay out of banned camp I have to treat everyone pretty much generically. That kinda sucks, but it is what it is.

Idk what her actual beliefs are so I won't say she's a fraud but she's definitely being used a pawn which is sad. If she believes us adults have failed her at her young age i could see her believing that. As an 18 year old I thought I was invincible and honestly i had no idea how difficult at times being an adult can be because I had no real perspective on all the.crap life can throw at ya year after year. Life happens though and living is hard enough let alone changing the world. When she gets a little older and life humbles her hopefully she'll understand life isn't like the movies where were all the super hero

Another thing about changing the world it doesn't have to be like a Hollywood movie where the hero accomplishes huge feats...... Changing the world can be as simple as just being nice to a person or raising your kids to be morally good, caring and thoughtful.

I agree, social media gave a platform to people to say and do things they would never have the balls to do in real life.
