Are you more or less sure than in 2016?

Are you more or less sure of the outcome of the 2020 election than you were of the 2016 election?
I was a lot more sure that Clinton would win in 2016, and I didn't even vote for her. I voted for Gary Johnson.

One of the most entertaining things that I've ever watched on screen are the stunned meltdowns of those who were absolutely shocked when Clinton lost to now President Trump in the 2016 election. The prospect of ever seeing anything like that again rests upon the sincerity of the hope that those very same voters who melted down in 2016 vest in their anyone-but-Trump candidate in 2020. My hopes of seeing that again will be reflected in the responses I receive in this thread.

I voted for Ralph Nader. The next day I wanted to change my ballot.

I'm much more sure that I don't know. I was positive that few would actually vote for Trump because he seemed like some kind of satire on American culture.

I didn't vote for Donald Trump in 2016, but I'd vote for President Trump tomorrow.
I'm happy to admit when I'm wrong. Trump is killing it, and all of the right people hate him.
That is, to me, the most telling thing; all of the right people hate him. And, unlike the rest of the news, I believe the hate. I don't think that anyone is faking their hatred for President Trump, and all of the right people hate him.

If Trump is the nominee he will win

If Pence or another Republican is the nominee Biden will win..

Yes Biden will be the democratic nominee because he is the one that thr Clinton's can control just like obumber.

Right now, with the lot the Dems are fielding as candidates, Im way more certain Trump will win 2020 election than I was 2016. If they drop their addiction to establishment shills and nom Gabbard, that will reduce my certainty. She's the only one who is likely to take a meaningful amount of moderate votes from Trump.

If Clinton jumps in last minute (which I still see as a likely deep state 'plan B'), that will indicate to me they're banking on stealing it with some strategically placed voter fraud.

I think the 'plan A' at this point is to actually impeach Trump. Relying on the NeoCons and RINOs in the senate (who have largely been 'never Trumpers' and still are closeted 'never Trumpers') to reject impeachment is folly. If they can be counted on to do anything, its to stab Trump and their pro-Trump constituents in the back in an 11th hour surprise and rely on an establishment plant to replace Trump and protect them from being voted out with some sort of emergency.

And I don't doubt for an instant some are considering assassination.

In short, Trump wins any honest election we have. The opposition's only hope is to fix the election or remove him as a candidate.

Unless they come out with far more damning evidence than has yet to be released, I'll be voting Trump whether he's impeached/convicted/imprisonned or not, even if I have to write-in on the ballot.

The problem is that the party takes too much control over who runs, and seems completely out of touch with reality.

It's too soon for these questions and what if's. These should be asked after AG Barr and Durham have released their reports. It will be a different ballgame then.

A year is a long time. Personally, I'm not certain the dems have a candidate yet.

2016, after the New Hampshire GOP primary, it became apparent to me that Trump would win the Republican nomination. That was the day I resigned myself to a Hillary Clinton Presidency. Like you, on election day my disdain for both Trump and Clinton was sky high, I also voted for Gary Johnson. It was a vote against both Trump and Clinton whether than a vote for Johnson. I wanted my disdain for both major party candidates officially registered.

Yes, I was totally surprised when Trump won. I was so sure of a Clinton victory I went to bed at 2200hrs and didn't even watch the returns. As for 2020, I've said numerous times that the ball is in the democrats hands, who they hand that ball off to depends on whether they win in a landslide or if another 2016 is possible. 2020 all depends on who the Democrats nominate. Am I as sure Trump will lose in 2020 as I was in 2016, no I'm not. But we're a long way out. The Democrats hadn't decided on a nominee yet. Although it will probably be Biden, Warren or Sanders.

I had hoped for a fresh young face with new ideas, new solutions to our problems and a grand vision of where he wants to take America. What I'm left with, UG. Perhaps another third party vote.

Trump looks like the winner but every election is a question mark. I think it'll be Trump based on the prevailing mood of the electorate, that is, Hillary lost because of her bullshit and not much has changed in the Democrat Party. They're still running on Obama's agenda and vilifying Trump 24/7. How is that a campaign?

Don't hang your hat on those guys... they're both Establishment.

I'd be shocked if they went after any of the swamprats with any sort of vigor.

The usual drill is to throw some lower ranking people under the bus, give a couple retiring bureaucrats a slap on the wrist, and sweep the whole thing under the rug.

As for the thread... I too voted for Johnson in '16, but will vote for Trump in 2020.

That would be the yardstick by which we could measure Trump's effect on American politics. I would be disappointed if you were right about this. I think with the kind of backing Trump is getting from the GOP we could actually see what justice really looks like. It should be public hangings for the whole lot and streamed.

Hell at this point I wouldn't agree that Biden will be alive by Nov 2020. Hell I'm significantly younger than him or Bernie and the crap they feed you at these campaign shindigs is damn near suicidally awful for much younger candidates. Add to that being constantly jet lagged as you dart from here to there on a damn near daily basis and voila the campaigning alone could kill an old man.

The problem is they still have way too many candidates and on a scale of one to ten they aggregate a four.

Tulsi needs to hit it out of the park this time or she's done.

I am much more sure of Trump's re-election in 2020 than I was in 2016. Hillary at least kept the crazies mostly under wraps. Now they have dropped their pants in public for all to see.... and are quite proud of it.

I didn't think Obama would win and I didn't vote for him. I didn't think Trump would win and I did vote for him. I will gladly and proudly vote for Trump in 2020. If you are patriotic, love the USA, and want the best for our country, then Trump is the best choice. He has a great proven record that no democrat can compete with. I'm very confident he will be reelected. Besides a great record he is a great campaigner.

Do you believe it is patriotic to call or advocate for civil war?

well said... i'll add that if trump is impeached by the house & isn't convicted by the senate then that might persuade enough voters to swing back left, something imo that the dnc is banking on ( this the reason for impeachment now, rather than years ago) and will nominate biden with a surprise eleventh hour hillary running mate... shortly after being sworn in, biden will resign "for health reasons' and chilly becomes prez...

Well we did it against the British. Yep, the insurrection by the patriots of our 13 colonies against unfair ruling by the British gave us our independence. Trump is proving he is doing what is best for the USA. That is obvious so far.
