No excuse for poverty in this country. Poverty is the result of a lack of individual irresponsibility, lack of personal planning, and laziness. That includes all races. It's easy for a go-getter to rise from poverty in the USA. You want job training then take a job at minimum wage and be a good performer, show up on time, learn the jobs around you, make yourself valuable to the company, and advance up the ladder until you are a craftsman. That's how you get job training. You work for it. Money is not the problem in education, it's the useless curriculum. Trump has put a stop to companies leaving the USA and has made it easier for small companies to start up. No excuses accepted for people who complain about poverty.

my motive? to contest the silly idea that looser gun laws always means safer society, and stronger gun laws always means more violence

    gun laws DO effect criminals.

    its absurd to suggest otherwise.

if say AK-47s are banned nationwide, it will be a lot harder for criminals to get access to them.

if say magazines above 10 rounds are banned nationwide, it will be a lot harder for criminals to get access to them.

And isn't that how the Democrat politicians like their ghettos? I think it's pretty clear how the Democrats feel about poverty, job and minority employment.. The have been fighting growth and prosperity since 2016 :)

Why are you comparing murder rates to gun crimes? That is not the same thing.

If you search for actual gun homicide and violence rates, the entire premise of your OP is false.

Rank Geography Firearm homicides: 2015-2016 Per 100,000 Firearm suicides: 2015-2016 (age 10+) Per 100,000
    .. United States 27,392 4.4 44,950 7.7
    1 New Orleans-Metairie, LA 404 16.6 186 8.1
    2 Memphis, TN 398 15 183 7.9
    3 Birmingham-Hoover, AL 275 12.6 245 11.9
    4 Baltimore-Columbia-Towson, MD 656 12.2 239 4.6
    5 St. Louis, MO 596 11.4 442 8.7
    6 Milwaukee-Waukesha-West Allis, WI 267 8.9 182 6.5
    7 Louisville/Jefferson County, KY 204 8.4 259 11
    8 Detroit-Warren-Dearborn, MI 652 8.2 554 7
    9 Kansas City, MO 327 8.2 375 10.4
    10 Chicago-Naperville-Elgin, IL 1,527 8.1 620 3.6

Each of those cities are hugely blue in their voting results in the last election.

How does that even makes sense to you? If violence is your concern what is your plan to disarm area's that are known hot spots for gun violence.. Clearly they are ghetto's, inner city criminals and so on with many being in states with very difficult rules to owning a firearm.. THEN AGAIN that only applies to those APPLYING for legal ownership, right?

Again, what you want is to disarm the criminals in illegal possession of a firearm, right? Or are you saying you are at the height of paranoia and are now afraid of your law abiding neighbors and the law abiding public?

Maybe it's time to lock your doors and have Smiths deliver you sundries and have a metal detectors that they have to walk thru on delivery days

You just don't get it :) A criminal has no problem acquiring ANYTHING, only money is the factor.. You have open borders with a corrupt country that poor people will do whatever for MONEY and for the right amount will supply "WE" Americans good or murderous with anything we like FOR A PRICE..

    Jesus man, open your eyes!

The people you are trying to control don't subscribe to your ideology, and all you are doing is controlling people already with self control LOLOL

Heroin is banned nationwide. It’s easier to get than an underage kid buying alcohol.

The nonsense is that I should have my gun rights restricted when you know criminals will always be able to obtain any weapon.

No, it just has nothing to do with gun laws.

How many people murdered in an area is not determined by how many guns you have, it's determined by how many killers you have.

Personally, I like firearms. But I also see the dangers when everyone has access to them.

Red States that you focus on conveniently have some of the highest percentages of black population. I'm sure you are well aware and this thread is about you still being sore that Republicans took away your slaves.
