Suppose this shadowy, opaque, 'kangaroo' impeachment pans out and makes it to the senate, and despite any credible evidense of 'high crimes', Trump is stabbed in the back by closeted 'never Trump' NeoCons and RINOs in the senate, convicted and imprissoned (against the popular support of constituents) just prior to the 2020 election. Suppose the DNC runs a Biden or a Warren, but Trump gains the popular vote (via write-ins) and either gains the EC, or only loses it due to 'faithless electors.' What do you think happens next, hypothetically speaking of course? So far as I can tell, being impeached, convicted or even imprisonned does not legally disqualify one from running for President, and many states require their electors to vote with the states popular vote, so this scenario, while unlikely, is possible.
Yes. The Senate may remove him from office AND bar him from holding office in the future but they are not mandated to bar future office holding (disqualification). We have a current instance of this. Federal district judge Alcee Hastings of Florida was removed from office in 1989 for perjury and conspiring to solicit a bribe. Since 1993, he has been representing a Florida district in the US House of Representatives.
There is no disqualification for running for president in the Constitution. Even the criminal is better than a king.

The senate cannot put him in jail, the most it can do is kick him out of office and not allow him to hold any office again. if Trump is removed Biden will win against Pence and democrats will destroy the country and there will never again be a republican president or have leadership in either house of congress and they will impeach both of Trumps SC appointments and install their own.. all they care about is power.
How can it 'not allow him to hold any office again'? I'm just curious because the restrictions on who can run for President are pretty slim- citizen, resident, 35yo, not already served two terms. That's pretty much it. Does Congress actually have the authority to say 'this person cannot be president' if they yet meet the minimum criteria layed out in the Constitution?
If a President is impeached, convicted by the Senate and removed, then yes. Article 1 Section 3 at 7. But if Trump were impeached and convicted, Pence could pardon him immediately and Trump could be re-elected in 2020. So regardless of what Adam POSchiff does, Trump will be the President for the next 5 years....even if he's out of office for a short amount of time.

I guess i was reading it wrong the senate CAN bar him from holding public office in the future, it;s not a requirement of the Senate to do so and they can do no more than that.
I have a question, what if he is impeached and kicked out of office, is there an actual rule in writing that says he cannot run again? Cause he would win in a landslide if he could.
If President Trump were convicted by the Senate in an impeachment ... If no disqualification vote is held, even a convicted official can reenter federal service. ... he could in theory run again, win and return to the White House. By the way....he did not even win in a landslide the first time.
"Individual 1" You all seem to forget that Trump is implicated in a Federal crime that Micheal Cohen is currently sitting in prision for. I forsee Trump being indicted by SDNY the second he is no longer in office. And since Cohen says Trump told him to do the thing Cohen is in prison for, It doesn't look good for Trump.

I see the NeoCon and RINO establishmentarians stabbing Trump in the back as hard as they can if they believe they can get away with it with their careers intact. The only way that would happen is if they make a deal with whomever is propped up to reign in the aftermath. As other posters already pointed out, a senate conviction comes with an automatic restriction on holding any office, so Trump, if convicted on the impeachment grounds in the senate, could not run again without a pardon. Not officially, anyway.
Best thing for the country. Trump reelected as a lame duck. Democrats chill out and in 2024. We put all this behind us and start over...
