France to impose migrant quotas to 'take back control'

French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe announced the country’s first migrant worker quota Wednesday amid the Macron’s administration’s push for stricter immigration policies.

Philippe announced in a press conference that the plan would help France “take back control” over its expanding migrant population.

“Retaking control means when we say yes it really means yes, and when we say no it really means no,” said Philippe, who serves under President Emmanuel Macron. “We’ve decided to go far in opening up where we think it’s good for France, and go far in restrictions where the abuses are intolerable.”

It couldn't go on forever. Even in a liberal global-minded Socialist country that wanted to bring as many of them in as they could by the busload.

Unlike many other countries, France pretty much only has one major city area, it's all concentrated in and around Paris, and there are lots of homeless people sleeping in the streets, due to a severe housing shortage and soaring rents.
Meanwhile people in the rural areas of France are really struggling, struggling to hold onto their traditional modes of life, since farm incomes are barely enough to sustain them and there is very little good job opportunity away from Paris.

All this open homelessness in the streets would have been completely unthinkable only 10 or 15 years ago.

 

Except they have no control over European immigration. All talk no action.

 

It's not really the portuguese or the polish that worry people...

 

Portuguese and Polish are great, you (plural) definitely don't want many others of the Eastern Bloc though, Romanians, Bulgarians etc.

Like Britain, I personally feel it's a little late in the day for this kind of action. We all know that Non-EU citizens tend to breed like Rabbits so it won't be too many generations before they are the majority, the horse has already bolted. It's good to see it becoming mainstream though it is all down to people like Farage, le Pen, Wilders etc.

France has some very worrying demographic statistics. (Not slating France btw, we are both ducked!)

 

It was a polite way to says that people worry much more about african and middle easter immigration. Nobody care of the chinese immigration. The biggest cultural shock seems to be african population either subsaharian or northern african. BTW, there is a lot of african people who are simply great, the point isn't to blame all afircan people. BTW, after dozens of terrorist attacks, french people are more and more tensed about islam and all of that, but the terrorist attacks isn't the only problems.

Yes I completely agree. For example, my girlfriend is Pakistani but Pakistani's generally are very poor integrators and are responsible for a huge % of child rape cases in Britain.

Too little, too late. These already emigrated from the poor third world countries are great in numbers, and their birth rate by far exceeds the birth rates of White French women.

Sorry to ruin Trumpers' wet dream, but France is referring to migrant workers. All nations, including America, have immigrant quotas.

 

Yes. Unchecked immigration has recently "come under the gun" after having its "15 minutes of fame" led by Merkel in the great 2015 deluge.

Many Frenchman, as well as many Brits have commented their countries are now unrecognizable. Perhaps Brexit was a consequence of unfettered non-European immigration.

Who knows. Perhaps in another 3 or 4 years another several million will be welcomed with open arms.
