I have found from experience that it doesn't hurt to plant them a little deeper than recommended. The roots will rise to ground level.

Not something I've tried, does it help for freezes? My rhizomes are about an inch under the soil, some exposed, but roots that go down further than I can dig. That's where the spouse and a shovel come in, lol.

I'm not confusing them at all, although Impressionists like Vincent van Gogh did borrow from Japanese artists in some of their work.

For the most part, the Dutch Masters and the Impressionists were painters, not printers, although Impressionist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec was an accomplished screen printer (a print medium invented by the Chinese). There were also some fine woodblock printers in Europe, most notably Albrecht Dürer (b.1471- d.1528 ) but their work is nothing like that of Hiroshige and the other great Japanese woodblock printers.

As for Claude Monet, he was one of the greatest artists the world has ever seen.

What a lot of people don't know about Monet - which speaks to his genius - is that he figured out the quality and nature of white light (sunlight) through his own visual perceptual faculties at the very same time scientists figured out the properties of white light using scientific instruments. That's quite a remarkable discovery and achievement on his part.

And I haven't even started on his wonderful paintings. While it might be said that Michelangelo and El Greco were the fathers of Modern art, I think it could be easily said that Monet was the father of abstract art.

    Amazing.

"A security camera captured the moment an adopted household Cat saved a one-year-old baby from falling down a steep flight of stairs. Gatubela, the Siamese Cat isn’t just looking out for her own nine lives. In a video captured by an office security camera in Bogota, Colombia on October 31, one-year-old baby Samuel León can be seen crawling around outside of his crib, when suddenly the little baby began heading for the doorway which immediately led to a steep flight of stairs. Springing into action, Gatubela pounced on the boy, and forcefully pushed him back from the 12-step stairwell and the horrific incident that would have followed."

    That is amazing.

And some people say cats are worthless.

As I've gotten older I've become more aware of how smart some cats can be. I've got a three year old Tabby who is remarkably intelligent. I've trained him to do a few things and he's figured out how to do others on his own, like opening doors that aren't latched shut and ringing the sleigh bells on our front and back doors when he wants out. At the rate he's going one day I'm going to come home and catch him reading The Wall Street Journal.

We have 3 handicapped cats. It's amazing how they adapted to overcome their problems. The blind cat we have walks along the walls or uses the furniture as a guide. She will follow the sound of your voice. The deaf cat we have knows handsignals. He comes when you wave him on or point to his food area and will come when we turn the lights on.
They all have challenges but they adapted and overcame their limitations. They are just so loving.

What is the 3rd handicap.Numero uno is Blindness.Numero duo is deafness.
    What is Numero trey.?
BTW ... it would be better to write { They've adapted } instead " they adapted ".
Not that I'm about to adapt towards { Likes }.
However I likes me just as I am.
A few more likes ain't about to make be feel any mores.

We have a cat that plays fetch. She has this. little cloth mouse. She brings it to different people to throw . She is off like a flash and fetches it. Then she brings it back. Then she goes to the next person.

Thanks for pointing out they've. I appreciate it.
The other cat was born without two paws. His two back legs are malformed. He was a stray that was born under a shrub in the yard. We found homes for his brother and sisters but kept him because he was so needy. He is about 10 now. He gets around but need carpets to walk on. So we put runner rugs around to make it easier for him.

Well if someone says so.Was there any sound.I couldn't hear if the cat started
barking or the toddler was crying for more mush.
Hal Roach { creator of great little kids comedies } handled this stuff better.
But it's interesting to know that our Pets are more than mere cuddly bears.
That a Pet can have a heart more loving than it's owner.
But then Pet lovers know that all too well.

I just finished a sad story { true and filmed } from Yellowstone park.
It was about a very popular Fox { Vixen } and her den. There were many
professional cameras watching the Fox and her Den { 2 newborn cubs }.
Then a little while later as the cubs were enjoying playing with their mom
a badger showed up.The Vixen had built a few escape holes but the Badger
went after the cubs even thought the Vixen and the badger fought for ground.
Luckily the Badger settled for an escape hole off the den that housed
stored meat { ground squirrels }. The Vixen decided to make another Den
a little ways off. With just one escape hole instead of a few.The Badger eventually
smelled the New Den and while the Vixen and male were off hunting the Badger
found the New Den and got the Cubs. All that was left was cub fur.
Badgers are a terrible species and extremely troublesome. If not for their
fur they would be considered a plague on the animal habitat.
    Somewhat similar to a weasel.

I've noticed on FB there are a lot of folks more concerned with animals than humans. One gal in particular has two Bouvier De Flanders (?) that are her whole world. Every morning we get pics of her boys waking to watch the news... and every evening pics of them enjoying the deck and not wanting to come in. Many friends have blocked her because they get sick of her dog posts, but I find her obsession interesting. Right down to their individual family sized oil portraits hanging over the fireplace.

    How bizarre.

I think of you every time I see the commercial for the fridge that makes crystal-clear ice balls. Actually found a two-ball maker on Amazon for $32. Don't want one, just never ever thought about cloudy vs clear ice until you came along. You've broadened my horizons.
