Oh, please, you were the one who started running his mouth about Harley owners.

Now you want to get your panties in a bunch because I didn't put up with your nonsense?

    You're rather delicate, aren't you?

Perhaps I missed the part in the rules where it said I had to sit back and listen to know-it-alls run their mouths about things they wish they had a clue about...

If this were a country club you'd be busing tables in the dining room..

You're the guy who believes he's an authority on everything and everything. You're the guy who believes that he is never wrong and, when you are, will never admit it. You're the guy who believes he's being attacked and persecuted when someone disagrees. You're the guy who'll never allow for the fact that there's someone who knows more than you.

And I would care about that why?

What can I say? Your ilk are allowed internet access, which means me and my ilk get to deal with your nonsense...

    Guitars.

    Littoral warfare.

Photography, particularly concert and motorsports photography.

    Airline travel.

And, yes, I know what "rhetorical" means. I thought I'd answer anyway...

My Yamaha costs way less than those guys. I absolutely love this bike. Have a few more plans for it.

    They do.

    He's ours, I suppose...

My experience is exactly the obvious, although you're correct about most MC's. A good friend of mine is a fully patched Outlaw and I've never seen him return a wave to anyone, regardless of the bike they're on. Then again, I know a lot of guys in the American Steel chapter, and they always return the wave, regardless of the bike. I notice that a lot of guys riding crotch rockets don't do it.

Probably because they know that nobody like them... LOL!

    Definitely not yer 45 degree V-Twin.But a metric 52-54 degree { round about }.
Looks like maybe a Yahama Road Star Warrior tank. That was about the only
bike that could compete with the Honda VTX 1800.Until the V-Rod started
offering aftermarket air cleaner kits and better Power Commanders.

I'm an enthusiast but not yet a participant. I was looking at the vmax but it seems too expensive and I could get something comparable for much less.

Someone mentioned putting in new spark plugs.I remember back
in the early to mid 2000's and my VTX 1800,i was having difficulty
adjusting the Fuel device { a Techlusion }.A newer and more easily tunable
version of a Power Commander. It acts as if adjusting the jets on a carburetor.
I had it set too rich and had to take out the plugs a few times to see how
    gunked-up they got.I went to my Riding Buddies home { he owned 2 Harleys }
and used his pressure sprayer to blow out the wet gunk.He went ahead and
insisted on putting the plugs back in.I saw he was tightening them too much.
I warned him about over tightening them.On account aluminum threads were
    used on the VTX 1800 spark plug holes.He was Tanker { Military Tank mechanic }
and was used to torqueing stuff tight.I was amazed he did not know about
over tightening spark plugs. He had the same attitude as far as Jap Crap.
I remember once going to a really good biker restaurant { we went of short
bike trips in the summer } and in the parking lot there was a few groups of
Bikers and their rides. As we parked our rides we ended up talking shop with
a group of bikers who were milling around before going in to the Bar/restaurant.
The discussion moved to Harley's vs. Metrics. Most the riders discussing this
rode in on Harleys. However many of those guys said they owned Metrics
and that a lot of the parts on todays new Harleys are from Japan.
Well that blew my Rider buddy's mind.He almost refused to acknowledge
it.He knew better he was just obstinate.Plus he Loved to order aftermarket
stuff for his new Harley. He had an older Harley an early 80's Shovelhead
that he refused to part with.He eventually customized his new Road King
and won some biker festival prize for best aftermarket customize.
He kept that bike for around 6 years and traded-up for a the newer\
Harley model which offered a discount on s big bore kit.I think it was a
95 Harley into a 103.He put on one of the best sounding Vance & Hines
stainless steel Pro Pipes { Blacked out cans } I ever heard. But he remained
a pain in the butt.He never got over how many looks I got with my Rune.

Well I'm a giant so there are bikes I can't ride. My friend had a 750 shadow my knees hit the handle bars. And I wouldn't trust it to pull me up hill so I need at least 1000cc

Dang, if you can't fold up enough to fit on a Shadow, um, I'm having a difficult time picturing you folding up enough for a crotch rocket. You sat on a VMax yet?

A vmax is bigger than a 750 Shadow. A 1700 road star which I see for sale around 4500 bucks at the 8 year old model is an even better fit.

I've ridden a RS 1700, mighty fine bike. Loads of power. You would be hard pressed to find something about it you didn't like, I imagine.

ETA: There are tons of forward control extension kits and highway pegs so constructing a comfortable cockpit is easier to achieve.

I have a 1900 Road Liner that you would like, thing is FAST. And look at all that leg room! :)

My Father in Law, RIP, has spanked many sport bikes on it. And he was in his 70's when he rode this one. Miss that dude.

ETA: Shadow vs VMax is more about seating position where the sport bike seating has the foot controls a bit further back than that of a cruiser, is all I meant.

I'll have to look at a road liner. I'm about to start my career back up so money will start flowing again.

Road Star's { Yahamas } are virtual dogs.As are the early Kawasaki
Vulcan's.When I got back into motorcycling in the late 1990's
My first Cruiser was a Kawasaki Nomad. It was bright green and looked
like what a cruiser should be.So I bought it w/o ever riding it.It was a terrible
bike.Slow and hard to corner and the brakes were not all that.
I tired of the bike within about a week.Started buying Motorycycle
mags.I remember Cruiser Magazine listed the Kawasaki Nomad as
Cruiser of the year.It was total hype. This is a couple years before the
Harley TC 88's came out.The Harley Deuce was very popular.Couldn't find
a new one in the late 1990s.New Harley's in my state were going for $ 3-4 K
Over List.Used Harley had a huge reputation for maintaining resale value.
I kept the Nomad for around 5-6 months and after researching the Valkyrie
Tourer Model decided that was the bike for me.It had a huge Windscreen and
great hardbags.Top opening not side opening like the Nomad.I eventually put
on Cobra aftermarket 6-into-6 exhaust. It sounded like a drag car.The Speedo
and tach on the Valkyrie Tourer were analog and about the best instruments
ever for a motorcycle. However big and somewhat bulky. The Tourer sat up a
little higher that most all cruisers. That was a plus because you could view the
road ahead better.I remember the day I traded-in my Nomad. It was at a small
Honda dealership and they had a new Valkyrie in the showroom and I gotta
a call from them that A guy was interested in My Nomad. So I had a buyer
and decided I was gonna get the Valkyrie as soon as the title transfer was
done. The guy who wanted my Nomad had a loud Yahmaha Road Star
that sounded good.I could not understand his wanting my Nomad. He said
he keeps bikes for around a year and then tries a different model.I wasn't
about to argue.I eventually adopted a version of that.I keep a bike until I put
around 10,ooo miles on and then get another.I always have 2 bikes.I have 3
now and do not feel like parting with my 2004 Rune.I came real close to
    trading in the Rune for a New Goldwing.But decided on the New { 2019 }
    Yahama XSR 900.

The problem is those bikes { Any Confederate Motorcycle } are not
livable motorcycles.Very OVERbuilt anfd therefore prone to quirkiness
and outright failure. So Dependable They Are Not.That is a Hallmark of
a Motorcyle brand.Plus no one who every manages to ride one ever
talks about how they feel { riding Position } let alone handling.
Usually just how Grunty and mean they sound and Inspire fear when
being on the street.Which of course comes with a Huge Price tag.
Like unbelievable hard to locate one and they cost more than a
luxury car.One would be better served spending $ 70 K on a Bike
that is way better engineered and does have basically the same attitude
    of brute force and authority.
With a Keanu Reeves motorcycle from his ARCH Motorcycle co.
    and either an S & S 124 ci. or very limited production model and 143c.i. S & S.
They look like they could work.A Confederate seldom even comes close to
looking they work.I wonder what happened with their Wraith.I read as much as I could
about it around 10 years ago.
