    The introduction of slavery into toda's events if a fool's quest. I have no sympathy for trying to continuously blame today's conditions on slavery and no sumpathy for trying to justify reparations on slavery. From an intellectual perspective I will concede that Blacks were not playing on a level field for nearly 100 years after slavery ended. The problem is that there is no fair way to financially mitigate the effects of slavery 160 years later.

    I would still like all the facts, including what specifically set her off.
    Was there coordination with the person recording the attack?
    The reporters know - why not just tell the whole story?

    Yes, if the attack had been white on black race would have been the focus of the reporting.

    Thank you. The lack of facts followed by attempts to bend this into one reality or another is a concern.

    I looked yesterday and noticed that there was an on-going investigation. That kind of suggests there's more to the story. I'll withhold any judgement other than it was wrong for an adult to get violent with a kid.

    Y'know, I mentioned this story in passing a couple weeks back and I know of it because it happened relatively close to where I work. The gist of the story was that a few teachers found a noose in an unused room and held it up while the principal took a picture of them as a means of gallows humor that close to the end of the school year, "Hang in there, guys!" - I think something you'd have to be a teacher to get considering how rowdy the kids can be that close to summer. In any event, there was no racial animus involved in the pic, although I did question the wisdom of taking the picture at all when the story broke. But the picture leaked out and the next thing you know -

    - yep, this happened and you had judgement flying before all the facts were out, and the story made the news for awhile.

    So the thing is, yeah - let's just say I question the motivations of the press in the reporting - or lack thereof - on stories like this.

    Sigh...I can appreciate the concerns people have, and to a point can understand the knee-jerk reactions, but we're at a point where we really need to give it a break. When someone's thoughtless idea of humor gets appropriated to supported someone else's rage and the whole thing goes wonderfully stupid, it's time to head out and get a jelly doughnut. Or maybe a whole box of them.

    Looks like open and shut felony battery, but if there any any mitigating factors they should be reported.

    Journalism requires reporting on the 5Ws + the 1H.

    Yes, especially when the sources are "anonymous".
    The presumption should be that every anonymous source is a fake source.

    Professional journalists should always know the 5 Ws and the 1H.
    It is their job to know those things and to report them.

    The now common failure to report the basic facts is why now MSM = Fake News.

    Did they sit around for hours having panel discussions about the oppression of people and how Trump makes it worse, or did they copy and paste the story onto their websites? How much time will Don Lemon spend on this story?

    There was no evidence of a racial motive regarding the yogurt shop, Starbucks bathrooms, BBQing, etc. yet the left managed to squeeze race into those stories and made it the primary factor.

    I'm going to guess that the few reporters who dug into this story did so trying to find dirt on the white kid and couldn't. If there was any maneuvering room for the media to take the black teacher's side it would have been out by now.

    If the kid is special needs because of a mental behavioral problem or if the kid had episodes of violent outbreaks that very well may have triggered the substitute teacher person. Yet that would not be a viable defense as far as I am concerned.

    That can, has, and will happen in all types of media as long use the days of journalists in the media have gone away. The early TV anchors were newspaper and radio journalists. Cronkite, Edward R Morrow, Chancelor,
    even Brinkley, ..... then we had TV Anchors..... now we have talking heads which some people mistake for news journalists. I knowhat you knkw but others out there need to know that No Shaun Vannity , Rachel Madcow, Cris Mathews, Rush Limbaugh, inbraham, Tucker, Cuomo, O'Donnell, and all that ilk are not journalists.
