The comment was about beating the woman as if she was a slave in 1820 America. There was no mention of reparations.

It is the ones who pretend to be journalists that are the problem.

i think we can all support that one

this is why I support cameras in every classroom and hallway

that is the only way to get bad teachers and students out of the school

Those teachers that are not prohibited and want to carry and take the necessary training.

There are plenty of schools that have armed teachers and faculty.

    You only support armed security?

Do you mean like the Broward Sheriff deputy Scot Peterson who coward and did not engage Nikolas Cruz?

    No thank you!

I'll take whatever measures I need to protect myself and the people around me.

Shaun Vannity has openly claimed to be a journalist and I think Cuomo may also have at one time or another.

How does that justify disarming teachers?

Not to distract, but as a former teacher, I have to say that arming teachers in the school is not really a great idea. The vast majority of those I worked with did not have the "capacity" to improve a shooter situation, and would be just as likely to make things worse. I would have been more afraid than comforted by allowing them to have a gun on the premises. Besides, when all the tough talk ends and we come down to real bangs and bullets, why would we assume a teacher would not do just what that Resource Officer did in Florida? I like the idea of Resource Officers in the schools, but only if they have extensive training and actual police experience.

Training is good. Teachers with military or police training would be fine. Armed retired military and police should be encouraged to volunteer to play cards, checkers or chess at the end of every school hallway.

I would supply the coffee and donuts.

As a general practice I think its a good idea on paper, but it opens up a can of worms if something goes badly and a student or teacher overreacts to a situation, or reacts too quickly. After consideration of the idea I prefer an expansion of the resource officer program where there is at LEAST one at every school and perhaps 2 officers in larger schools. Right now in my county they previously had one officer per 2 schools and they are working on expanding that to one in every school. <8 million dollar expense for the county, which isn't cheap.
