I have always opposed Trump's removal from office by Congress.

The value of the impeachment inquiry is in exposing the truth via the testimonies of multiple expert witnesses, dedicate public servants (who will all be be slimed by hardcore Trump bum kissers, of course.)

A better-educated electorate will issue its verdict in November, 2020.

The RINOs of Trumpery are hysterical over the People becoming better informed. They'll be in a tizzy by the end of the week.

They are looking at the election... clearly they believe Trump is more electable than any other and getting rid of Trump will hand them the country... a coup attempt

Except virtually no one believes trump will be removed.
    Impeached yes, removed no.

So how will this get rid of trump?

I personally hope his tax returns drop about three weeks prior to the election.
That plus a successful impeachment will do wonders on his 40% approval rating.

How will the rule of law be restored by removing Trump pray tell ?! Our Kangaroo Justice system was trampling on the founding principles and the rule of law long before Trump arrived - this has continued through his reign - and will continue after.

Yes, the combined experience of public servants such as Vindman, Yovanovich, Hill, Volker, McKinley, Kent, Taylor and their intimacy with the Ukraine scandal makes them valuable sources. Others whom Trump has tried to gag have much to tell as well, Bolton and Perry among them. Giuliani, Parnas, and Fruman would also be a delight to hear from under oath. Let's hope all come clean.

I said over a year ago that it Trump is removed, articles of impeachment for Pence will be drawn up within 60 days.

Your mistake is thinking about this in terms of Right and Left and not as an American. And what you've ignored in setting up your question is the obligation of all Americans to be vigilant with respect to lawless behavior by the prez.
The revelations about the Ukraine scandal made it imperative the mechanism by which a lawful removal of a sitting prez is pursued be started. To do otherwise would be to give tacit approval for future prez's to gratuitously abuse their office without fear of accountability.

I hate to admit it, but I think you're right. I absolutely hate the guy and would love to see him gone, but I think there is an extreme shortage of real reality as far as how to do this. I've been against the idea of impeachment from the beginning because it's obvious that he won't be removed from office and at best he'll get smeared and nothing more. Those who hate him will be happy about that and those who love him will be happy about that. (My God! Did Pelosi just unite the people and make everyone happy?? Brilliant!)

In many ways this is like the Clinton impeachment in that the actions leading to the impeachment inquiry were petty, and, in the end, Trump will still be in office and his supporters will be ready to support him no matter what. The rest of the world will look at us and say, "Uh...Can we get a new world leader? These Yanks have lost their minds!"

Of course! All I have done since I responded to your OP is confirm your posts. But, apparently, you didn't think this over well enough to realize that what your posts prove is that the large majority of us don't believe that the purpose of impeachment is purely partisan politics. You have done the reasoning that shows this. But refuse to accept the inevitable conclusion. And I suspect that you won't only because it goes against the dogma you are used to hearing from your wingnut media.

The right only has two options: They either look at the facts, use logic and reason and go with the conclusion that those facts lead to. Or they deny that the facts exist and repeat "Trump didn't do anything" until they're blue in the face. But you can't combine the two.

You actually don't know what "rule of law" is? That's a new one. Hadn't heard that excuse from Trump loyalists.

Pay attention, then: "Rule of law" means that people (the president, in this case) suffer the consequences that the Constitution and the laws prescribe for breaking the law. In the hypothetical case that the OP describes, that would be removal.

    Isn't learning fun!

Exactly. Trump, Pence, and Kavanaugh are just the top of their list. They will stop at nothing in their efforts to destroy our country.

You are the one that clearly does not know what the Rule of Law is - in any great detail. The example you give in relation to Trump is just one violation of the Rule of Law.

Your claim that the Rule of Law will again be respected once Trump is gone is preposterous nonsense. Our Kangaroo Justice system had been violating the Rule of Law long before Trump walked into office and it will continue to do so long after.

What does "restoring the rule of law" mean? The way you use it, it sounds like a talking point for those who can't come up with an impeachable offense to impeach someone on.

Yeah. Just one violation of ... hundreds of violations by Trump.

Even more than "preposterous" I would say "idiotic". But you made that up. Not me.

Bad guy breaks law... pays the consequences. Very relevant when the "bad guy" is the President.

Hah! I could take all the space allotted to this forum just listing them. And then I'd need another one to post the evidence.

Impeachable offenses abound. So much so, that there wouldn't be time left in Trump's administration just to draw articles for all of them. So they're going to have to pick and choose. The rest will be up to the judicial system.

With so many impeachable offenses to choose from, you still seem to have a hard time listing even one of them.

well of course supporting the Constitution and the rule of law is incomprehensible to someone who thinks everything is about who wins or loses in the political circus.
