"Gates’ testimony contradicts Stone’s claim to the House Intelligence Committee that he did not communicate with anyone on the Trump campaign about information he claimed to have gathered regarding WikiLeaks’ plans to release hacked Democratic information (IOW, collusion). But more significantly, it calls into question Trump’s assertions to Mueller’s team. In written responses to the prosecutors last year, Trump stated, “I do not recall discussing WikiLeaks with [Stone], nor do I recall being aware of Mr. Stone having discussed WikiLeaks with individuals associated with my campaign.” Trump also told Mueller: “I do not recall being told during the campaign that Roger Stone or anyone associated with my campaign had discussions with any of the entities named in the question [including WikiLeaks] regarding the content or timing of release of hacked emails.”

Is it possible the Liar-in-Chief didn't remember the conversation? Theoretically, yes. Is it likely he would have forgotten a conversation central to the release of dirt on Hillary? Dirt he spent a great deal of time talking about and seeking from Russia. Dirt his son illegally solicited from a Russian operative. Personally, I don't think so. Meaning the Stone trial has provided substantial evidence not only of collusion but of Don lying in written questions to Mueller.

So..........should the Dems try to add perjury to the list of impeachable offenses Don has committed? I don't think so. Just as Bill Belichick once said "it's on to Cincinnati," in this instance "it's on to Ukraine."

Really, Lee, Trump lied to Mueller? Aw, say it ain't true.

Actually, Trump being truthful with Mueller would have been news. Sorry, to rain on your parade, but this is just more of the same.

It should be notable to everyone that among the questions Trump answered by saying he didn't recall these two in particular stick out. Because they go to the heart of the question of whether there was a conspiracy. It highlights the likelihood there was one, but that Mueller couldn't prove it due to Trump and Stone's obstruction. I'm not so much preaching to the choir as I am pointing out to The Following how details like this have been obscured by Billy the Bagman's deceit.

"Gates’ testimony suggests Trump was in direct communication with Stone about WikiLeaks. Gates’ statements to the court also indicate that Trump received updates on what Stone was telling other campaign officials about WikiLeaks. His testimony depicts Trump and his campaign as trying to use Stone as something of a go-between with WikiLeaks to obtain inside information they presumably could exploit."

Bannon has already testified Stone was looked upon by the campaign as their contact person with Wikileaks.

I realize how cynical we've all become and how numb we are to things like this because of the daily deluge of outrageous events. But in this case, as opposed to all the other thousands of lies Don has told, this one was given under oath.

Well, as I just wrote, I understand your reaction..........but I think evidence the POTUS perjured himself under oath is still news.

Trump lied under oath. Isn't that essentially what Clinton was impeached for? Have we become so jaded that impeachable offenses elicit a ho-hum response? I suppose we have.

Trump campaign wanted updates on 2016 WikiLeaks releases on Clinton: ex-aide testifies
    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...es-on-clinton-ex-aide-testifies-idUSKBN1XM1EK

"The testimony by Gates, who appeared under a cooperation agreement, could potentially hurt Stone as he faces charges of obstructing justice, witness tampering and lying to the U.S. House of Representatives Intelligence Committee in its investigation into Russian interference in the election. Stone has pleaded not guilty.

The testimony also appears to conflict with sworn statements that Trump gave Mueller, in which the president wrote that he had “no recollection of the specifics of any conversation” with Stone from June 1, 2016 through November 8, 2016 and that he could “not recall discussing WikiLeaks” with Stone."

I don't think they will add them to the impeachment charges. Impeachment, I think, will be centered on all the criminal activity that has been proven to the point where there is no possible defense. There is plenty of that. So I don't think they'll bother wasting their time with discussions about whether Trump "recalls" this or that.

Once Trump is out of the Presidency, this will be one of the tasks of the next AG. As soon as we have an honest one in place.

Your post are so persuasive, just packed with facts :cheerleader:
Maybe your buddy Rodger will confirm the Gates testimony.
Of course we all know two witnesses probably wouldn't be enough for the Trumpers.

Gates is a cooperating witness who has plead guilty and vowed to cooperate with Trump’s DOJ. Stone is taking the gangster role here. Let’s see what the jury of his peers finds after hearing and seeing all the evidence. My guess is that Stone will be found guilty on all charges just like his buddy Manafort. How do you think his case will turn out?
