I'm not a fan but I wish her well too and hope her final time is peaceful. I would never intentionally wish anyone harm like I have seen from certain quarters.

Having said that though I can't say I am in favor of anyone being on the Bench well into their 80s.

Deterioration of the brain begins in our 30s and although octogenarians and nonagenarians can be quite sharp the fact remains that most people suffer from some form of cognitive decline between 70 and 80 and 50% of people between 80 and 85 have some form of dementia.

I think there should be an age limit when they need to retire. It's the highest Court in the land and those appointed need to be sharp and appointments for life just seem silly.

    Excellent points.

Particularly for "lifetime" appointments, there should be some restriction.

To my mind 'lifetime appointments' are nothing short of ridiculous.

They should have to retire at a certain age and then stand down with appropriate 'honors' for their service.

we need regular drug/alcohol testing of our leaders in all positions, say every thirty days with results posted publicly... as well as cognative testing...

they should be required to take breathalizer & drug test at the beginning of every session of congress, in real time live on tv

Her quality of life is probably pretty awful. Being sick and probably in pain can't be very fun, assuming she feels much of anything.

This being an election year with slightly less than a year to go, I hope she can hang on until Trump is reelected.

Agreed, I don't think term limits are a bad idea either.

Cling to power? I may not like her view on certain issues, but she is 100% devoted to the law.

Scalia respected RBG like no other in his own words.

I am finding it very hard to rationalise some of the comments here. A Member of SCOTUS is pretty crook, and all some here are concerned about are the political/judicial potentials. Nah. Poor form IMO.

Means no matter what happens with President Trump, his legacy is undoable for 20-30 years. Meaning it was all worth it, no matter what.

How sick, why not put her head in a jar of preservative, like Nixon on Futurama. Sorta a reverse, abortion.

I wish her ill health because she hates the constitution, and won't retire. If she were to retire, she'd be like anybody else just fighting for a few more years. As a SCOTUS judge, she needs to go one way or the other.

She is a cancer on the republic as a supreme court justice.

If she really has pancreatic cancer I hope they don’t put her on life support. After watching a couple people die from it I wouldn’t wish prolonging that death on anyone. Screw politics. She’s a human being.

Her interpretation of the law would leave our Founding Fathers in need of psychological counseling.

But she’s probably a very decent person, especially if Scalia thought she was a close friend.

    Hm. Lessee...

    - Democrats impeach Trump in early-mid December.
    - Republicans delay senate trial until 2020 to interfere with the 2020 primary season.
    - Republicans put trial on hold to confirm a new USSC justice

Imagine the reaction from the left, should this happen.

Not a fan of ending either, especially abortion, I've given up on the abortion battle personally.

As far as birthright, what i'd like to see is perhaps a modification that the parent must be legal (vs just present) in the us at the time of birth.

You're exactly right. This bitch has made public comments about the Constitution being fundamentally flawed and needs to be replaced with an iteration of South Africa's. She has violated her oath so many times it's pathetic and while some of you won't like my comments, she needs to take a dirt nap for the good of the country.
