Anyone who supports a criminal degenerate like trump has had to throw all of their principles and ideals under the bus to do it.
I wouldn't make assumptions regarding a belief in God and political beliefs. I am a libertarian/conservative and I don't believe in a magic sky man. On the other hand I know plenty of liberals that do. A large (well attended) local church near where I live flies a 20 ft rainbow flag for example. This discussion IMHO should be in the religion section of this forum IMHO, but since it is here and I felt like replying. I will add that inasmuch as early Christians practiced a form of pre-Marx communism, I would think Christians would all be progressive liberals.
This comment by the Catholic brainwashed Buchanan shows that his ilk are totally ignorant about how evolution works and don't understand the difference between abiogenesis and evolution. More science needs to be taught in schools as well as logic and critical thinking.
Name the politician who isn't a criminal degenerate. The problem with the modern age is that we are able to see glaring corruption of every politician. For example, Obama/Clinton have made untold millions by selling access to political power. They are not unique, this corruption is ubiquitous among all political power brokers. Nobody in Washington has cared about the middle class in decades. They make noises to sate us and pass legislation to help the elite. America would be in a vastly better condition if the will of the middle class had been followed for the past 50 years. That has not happened and probably will never happen again. https://www.minnpost.com/eric-black...l-get-their-policies-adopted-even-if-opposed/
I wonder if religious rightards realize that most Americans who "believe in god" don't necessarily believe in Christianity or any other religion.
Our schools do not challenge religious beliefs. They often go out of their way to avoid challenging religious beliefs, in fact, and plenty of teachers are themselves religious to some degree. America is one big safe haven for theism, especially of Christian varieties.
And the issue is? Why in country with Freedom of Religion would teachers "challenge" religious beliefs?
Progressives aren’t after voluntary socialism/communism. The early church was. Totally different things.
Please at least try to know what your talking about before you spew, Buchanan is a Christian not a catholic and I repeated what he said because I thought it was funny. Dont get all atheist on me
What exactly do you mean by a safe haven? It is not the job of public schools to attack or promote religion.
Here is a quote from Wikipedia. Buchanan was born into a Catholic family and attended Catholic schools, including the Jesuit-run Gonzaga College High School.
I believe in a universal connectedness, maybe we are all part of God, without us, there is no God - so agree, depends on the way it's asked Most God believers are either Christian or Muslim though, both middle eastern religions
Yes I think there is truth in that. For anything that promotes such attributes has great value. Whether it is a belief in God or something else that promotes and conditions us to be honest, caring, less self centered and ethically responsible people. This was once even taught in public school when I was growing up. And by parents and community. But also by the programs seen on TV. The last time I watched tv, if you wanted to see that kind of progrm you would have to watch andy griffith or the Waltons, old reruns . What does current tv programming teach our youth to be ? What kind of conditioning is being used today? I liked it better when liberals were conditioning us with morality and fair play, and ethics. What happened to liberals ?
Get the link! I will not believe that they actually laughed at Patrick for believing in God. Sounds like MUS!
Do You Believe in God?' 87% Say 'Yes God doesn't care if you believe in him/her or not. He/she knows you live in, & work from, a limited reality, & have to go on feelings often to determine what's right or wrong, true or false. And often there's not enough evidence available to help make a choice. But he/she doesn't hold it against you, whatever you conclude. So, go with your heart.
Since when is what you described only among Christians? Only Christians lie? Only Christians are hypocritical? Seems like you've taken a common negative human trait that's applicable to most people and only assigned it to Christians.
I am a fairly conservative atheist and I do believe that religions caused more deaths than 1000 Hitlers combined. While I support the freedom of religion, I honestly think that all religions are like a stupefying mental virus that needs to be eradicated like a disease. Not by force, but by education.
