I'm guessing he means Trump will be convicted by the senate and conservatives will all have heart attacks.

Seems more than a little unlikely, but even if he is convicted, Pence moves up and life goes on. I've been through Nixon and Clinton. I can handle the current tempest in a teapot.

She wasn't even fired. She still works at the State Department.

I keep reading terms such as "mobsters, bribery, quid pro quo " and the like. Do any of you people ever have an original though?

Your BLOTUS is a public figure. The Ambassador was a federal employee until he began to nefariously disparage her.

Her standing ovation demonstrates that the public now has a great deal of sympathy for her.

    Irrelevant!

Her career as an ambassador has been effectively terminated by your lying BLOTUS.

I'm sorry but these bureaucratic clerks need to check their open and public insubordination. The President sets foreign policy, it is a Foreign Service Agent's duty to implement that policy.

No employee has any "duty" to carry out the crimes of their bosses.

I'm not seeing the issue. It's apparent from her testimony that she opposed the President's foreign policy and acted to undermine the President's lawful directives implementing that policy. Insubordination is a terminal offense.

So your BLOTUS is ABOVE the Law of the Land and can commit any crime he likes without any accountability whatsoever?

Once upon a time genuine conservatives would have been standing alongside Dems to impeach this kind of criminal activity in the Oval office.

Our nation is being dragged through the sewer by BLOTUS supporters nowadays!

    Sad!

    Extortion is a crime!

Soliciting something of value from a foreign government for campaign purposes is a crime!

    Wintness intimidation is a crime!

You're taking about a dedicated professional that has served her country for 33 years, Some of those were in hardship posts. She has great courage and for Trump to insult her this way and threaten her career was the act of a sniveling coward. Have a little respect.

Really? My god does that mean the endless 'everybody is picking on me' statements are just a joke?

Well then, why does he whine about everything? He acts like everyone is out to get him, he even says thar, as do his supporters. That's why I asked. Trumpsters keep lauding him like he's a great big hero, then repeat his whines about being the victim of a coup.

But it is how policy differences or ineffective leadership is addressed. What I'm seeing is arguments over policy and methods. In short, political issues not criminal acts.

I had never seen a witness receive a standing ovation until yesterday....quite telling. Trumps Twitter meltdown certainly backfired for him and his defenders.

He was bribing the Ukrainian president into doing his oppo research on Biden.

You can use the latin quid pro quo, or you can call it extortion, or bribery. Using the latter is smart, because that's one of the words the founders used for this type of action. The word is right there in our Constitution in the impeachment clause.

Your seething hatred for Trump is obviously blinding you to the truth. If anyone was so worried about "smears" then they would still be miffed about the Kavanaugh confirmation. That man was smeared big time. This gal just got her little feelings hurt.

This was on instance where the statement should have ended after the 1st clause. Yup. Prez could fire this person at any time for any or no reason at all.
You best hope this does not go to the Senate at all. You will hand the Republicans a, "We're not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with us moment." They'll call those that hired Hunter Biden, etc. and there will be no Shiffty person to stiffle the questions that follow.

Orange man rude. Big deal. Why did the Democrats demean her by repeatedly asking how she felt about everything ?? They treated her as a pawn and in a very sexist way.

Once again it is the progressives acting exactly as they accuse the right of doing. The classic pattern repeats over and over again.
