After the call ended, Mr. Holmes asked if it was true that the president did not care about Ukraine. Mr. Sondland, he testified, agreed. According to Mr. Holmes’s account, the ambassador said Mr. Trump cared only about the “big stuff.” Mr. Holmes noted Ukraine had “big stuff” going on, like a war with Russia.

But Mr. Sondland had something else in mind. He told Mr. Holmes he meant “‘big stuff’ that benefits the president,” like the “Biden investigation” that his lawyer Rudolph W. Giuliani was pushing for, because it affected him personally.

Well so much for third hand testimony. Luckily everyone involved in this scandal appears to be a moron, I wonder if Sondland will go to the Manafort/Stone route, or if he’s more of a Rick Gates kinda guy

The pay wall says I should do what you almost always do and deflect to Obama. So forward you story to Schiff and see where it goes.

This clown show is, literally, a joy to watch.

Never in my life have I witnessed an administration so willing to throw the rule of law out the window and then claim the Dems are on a "witch hunt".

    Bribery. At least

You seem unconcerned that a private attorney was interfering in government policy on behest of the president

Bribery is a term the left just rolled out and you're fully buying into it. Where was bribery 2 days ago before your media told you to repeat it?

I noticed that too. Doesn't sound like bribery to me. What was the bribe?

    Here’s how it goes:
Hacking, vote changing, meddling, influence, pee tape, German banks, Russian mafia, QPQ and now bribery.

So a bribe means Trump got paid or paid some one off. Who got paid off? Show me.

The WB exposed their scheme. You think a John who pays off an undercover cop for sex, but gets arrested, can go to court and say since he didn’t get sex it doesn’t count?

We need to let Balgovoich out of prison since he never managed to sell that senate seat.
Remember the failed shoe bomber? Wonder if he’ll try the trump defense?

Gunna be a tough sell for Democrats. Grasping at these straws makes them look desperate. Desperate people don't inspire confidence. The impeachment show is only going to get more boring and less relevant as all the "star" witnesses have testified already. Americans don't seem invested.

Yep! Old slime ball has slithered out of all of that using the tactics taught to him by the Mafias main fixer Roy. Cohn. Well Roy is dead and this big nastyty spotlight is shining on what has been years of malfeasance and people for some reason dislike those who continually thumb thier noses at the law so THAT is why you see so much hate

Oh, we got all this evidence in two days huh? Every witness I've seen only has hearsay or their opinion of something they read in the NYT. I know, you work for Quigley who said hearsay can be better than direct evidence. :roflol:

Uhh.... Schiff knows everything now.... Who do you think the Congress was going to depose after the Ambassador yesterday??

And for those concerned about the use of the word Bribery, I agree it's a little misleading to how we think of Bribery today. Bribery is generally thought of as paying somebody to do something illegal or unethical. Which is why this is Extortion, which is generally thought of as withholding something important to get somebody to do something illegal or unethical.

I recommend going with Extortion moving forward, but remember that Extortion is in the Bribery family of crimes and Bribery is mentioned specifically in the Impeachment section of the Constitution...

All this "testimony" sounds like high school gossip. I liked the part where the accusers were asked what impeachable offense was committed and the response was crickets!

Bribery is the word the Ds’ focus group told them would be more serious than QPQ or extortion.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...e9a202-0702-11ea-b17d-8b867891d39d_story.html

    https://hotair.com/archives/allahpu...quid-pro-quo-bribery-focus-group-told-better/

“Several Democrats have stopped using the term “quid pro quo,” instead describing “bribery” as a more direct summation of Trump’s alleged conduct.

The shift came after the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee conducted focus groups in key House battlegrounds in recent weeks, testing messages related to impeachment. Among the questions put to participants was whether “quid pro quo,” “extortion” or “bribery” was a more compelling description of Trump’s conduct. According to two people familiar with the results, which circulated among Democrats this week, the focus groups found “bribery” to be most damning. The people spoke on the condition of anonymity because the results have not been made public.

Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.), a House Intelligence Committee member, kicked off the effort to retire “quid pro quo” from the Democratic vocabulary during a Sunday appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” where he said “it’s probably best not to use Latin words” to explain Trump’s actions.”
