This is an impeachment inquiry it is not a court trial and it is being conducted as per the House resolution as laid out and passed Oct 31, 2019. Trump fans had every chance to offer their suggestions for the resolution but if Trump fans could not get a majority to support their suggestions what can I do. Madam Ambassador's Senior Foreign Service career suggests she's far from minimally qualified, she's an expert in the Eurasian region completing overseas assignments there from 2001 through 2019. Notable is her stint as Senior Advisor to the Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs.

Madam Ambassador Yovanovitch held her post in the Ukraine for three years, '16-'19. She was Principal Deputy Secretary for the State Department Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs in '12-'13. Ambassador to Armenia '08-'11. Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan '04-'08. Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Embassy in Kiev, Ukraine '01-'04. Deputy Director of the Russian Desk in the U.S. Department of State 1998 - '01.

The idea that Ambassador Yovanovitch wasn't aware of the actions, policies and connections in granular detail within the political community relating to or effecting domestic politics and foreign affairs in Eurasia, and specifically the Ukraine, is hard to imagine. It suggests that Madam Ambassador Yovanovitch was incompetent and lacking the skill set required of a Senior Foreign Service Professional. I don't buy it Daniel.

From bottom to top. When Democrats want Eric Holder prosecuted for contempt of Congress over his lies to them, or perjury, we can at least have a pretense by Democrats they believe in actual justice. But return to Trump. Trump has made use of executive privilege and that is lawful.
To assume Trump extorted any nation is to call said nation a liar and to dismiss official statements by the said nation that they never were extorted. Merely the Democrats claiming it does not make it true.

To persuade me I need a legal basis and facts to support the alleged legal basis.

Here is what I would like to know. Given that 19 minutes after Trump being sworn in, (recall the bleating that republicans swore to make Obama a one term president, yet failed to do so) the Democrats virtually swore an oath to impeach Trump. No reasons of any kind, merely they would impeach him.

Sadly for Democrats it is not a conviction at all. It means when the Senate dismisses all charges they will simply whine a lot more. Agree?
