The president may be responsible for getting to the bottom of corruption, but it is Congress who must get to the bottom of corruption by and of the president. That is what they are doing. And since you've chosen narratives and fantasies instead of reality, you can't even begin to accept that the man who was corrupt before you elected him simply never stopped being corrupt. He just changed buildings. The same personality traits that led him to be corrupt in the private sector are what led to things like the Ukraine scandal. He does not believe that he should have to exist under the same rules and requirements as other people. That, and he is desperate as hell to keep the White House and the attention it brings him. That's what a massively inflated ego get you. It really is as simple as this. If you hire an alcoholic who hasn't quit drinking, you shouldn't be surprised when he shows up drunk or drinks on the job.
