The SCOTUS would not have blocked it if they thought that you left-wingers had a right to see them.

In the end, Trump will prevail.

"Trump's lawyers argue that the committee has no legitimate purpose in seeking the documents" That right there is all you need to know. It's fishing expedition. That fact that they can't tell you what they're looking for is major red flag. Where is the evidence that he has done something that you need the records for...... that can't be answered. On top of that, he has already filled out several declaration forums that really is all you need.

Any real American should be pissed off about this. No matter if you support Trump or not. That fact is a branch of the United States Government is using it's authority to circumvent due process, the laws and the Constitution

You mean the tax returns that Trump promised his voters he would release... those tax returns. Trump lies and lies and lies and his FanBoys eat it up.

Obama promised me $2500 in savings on Obamacare, when do I get that?

Trump doesn't have to release his tax returns if he doesn't want to. It's his Constitutional right.

If the NY District Attorney asks for them as part of their investigation as to whether Trump provided incorrect totals on his rental property, then yes, the law does give authority. Tax evasion is a crime.

Trump can change his mind at anytime for any reason.

I think you left-wingers call it "evolving."

Yea the only problem is dems haven't been able to say what cime or what evidence. They want blanketed access to his records.

Where's the evidence that he may have "provided incorrect totals on his rental property?"

If no evidence, then they don't have a fricking right to see his tax returns.

It's pure partisan nonsense and the SCOTUS will overturn it. As they should.

Where is the evidence of all this? Why did it surface after he was POTUS and not before?

Or as most people call it, lying.

And the NY District Attorney office can subpoena those tax documents in tax evasion cases.

It’s been disclosed that Trump May have supplied potential lenders with documents saying that those properties were 70% rented, then supplied the State of NY with documents saying the property was about 30% rented fo tax purposes. Which was correct? Needs to be investigated.

Does it bother you that your President lies to you daily? Do you think it’s because he thinks you’re stupid, or because he knows you don’t care? Or other? (Please elaborate.)

Same reason we didn’t hear about Trump paying off porn stars, he had his “fixer” working on it. The bank records were not available till recently.

you dont know **** about how the SCOTUS works, huh?

they issue stays all the time, its common practise, doesn't mean they will rule one way or the other.

they issued a stay against Trump's attempt to end DACA!!! guess that means according to you, the program is safe huh?

    :p

in my humble opinion, considering this is about STATE tax forms, I think SCOTUS will let the NY courts handle this.

    its called The 10th Amendment.

takes 4 Justices to decide to hear a case,

and right now, SCOTUS only has maybe 3 hardcore conservatives.

After the "stay", I think it will be a close call in the Supreme Court. I see a 5-4 vote saying: "His financial records are none of your business."

Roberts May be the swing vote, and I don’t think he likes Trump that much, nor will he like overturning a District Attorney asking for tax returns in a possible tax fraud case.
