Trump's pullout from Syria allowed ISIS to gain strength, intel agency reports
    https://www.politico.com/news/2019/11/19/trump-syria-isis-071499

"President Donald Trump's order to withdraw troops from northern Syria, combined with Turkey's assault against Kurdish forces, allowed the Islamic State to strengthen its position there, the Pentagon's inspector general said in a new report released on Tuesday.

The withdrawal and incursion allowed ISIS to "reconstitute capabilities and resources within Syria and strengthen its ability to plan attacks abroad," the quarterly report from the lead inspector general on the U.S. military campaign against ISIS stated. The report cited information from the Defense Intelligence Agency."

Don is having his own "Mission Accomplished" moment.

Trump Says ISIS Is Defeated. Reality Says Otherwise.

    https://www.politico.com/magazine/s...sis-terrorists-defeated-foreign-policy-225816
    ..............................................................................................................
Even back in May when Gen. Trump prematurely declared ISIS was a goner (and naturally claimed credit for it) people who knew better were pushing back against the idea. Of course, Don famously feels he knows more than.......well........everybody, military experts included.

Perhaps if he didn't feel that way, and took their advice rather than acquiescing to the request of the despot known as Erdogan, he wouldn't have made the colossally stupid decision to betray the Kurds. Instead, just as was predicted, ISIS has been made stronger by his idiocy.

You guys have been complaining about foreign wars for years. Now Trump takes us out of one and you complain.

This has nothing to do with ISIS and everything to do with Trump hate. Had he increased troops to combat isis. You'd be complaining about that too.

Lee, you are hysterical. You complain if we stay in perpetual war and you whine if we withdraw. Decision making seems to be a missed gene in the alt-lefties gene pool.

"Both political parties have criticized the Trump administration for withdrawing U.S. troops from northern Syria last month. Critics say the move undermined the fight against ISIS and undercut Kurdish forces who partnered with U.S. forces in the campaign."

U.S. to Deploy Hundreds of Troops to Guard Oil Fields in Syria, Pentagon Officials Say
    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/25/world/middleeast/esper-troops-syria.html

BRUSSELS — The United States will deploy several hundred troops to guard eastern oil fields in Syria against the Islamic State, defense officials said Friday, another lurch in President Trump’s zigzagging military policy in the country.

The thing is...........he doesn't know either. Everything that came from his defenders was a failed attempt to excuse an impulsive act done at the request of Erdogan. Then again.............he does have that property in Istanbul.

asking the kurds to help us fight ISIS and then turning our backs on them when it required very few troops to be stationed there was stupid

yes, Bush was wrong to start two massive 7+ trillion 10 year wars - that is also true

There is also the Kashoggi thing. That murder happened in Turkey and there were reports that we knew "something" was going to happen.

Does Erdogan have recordings of conversations?? Can Erdogan show that we gave MBS the OK? Was Trump being extorted by Erdogan??

Turkey isn't the problem, isis isn't the problem.
RUSSIA is the problem they are an expansionist country at the moment. Sooner or later we will have to confront them.

If we wanted to deal with Turkey it would be all to easy
If we were serious about Isis. We could make them nonexistent. Russia on the other hand is a much greater threat.

That's been the main takeaway from the impeachment hearings.. forget Trump Burisma and the Bidens. The real concern is Russia and their expanding sphere of influence and of territory.

I agree. Russkies are a big threat to the free world.
But don't forget the many other little crooks who want to destroy the western world.

Robert, lets see if you are singing the same tune if ISIS manages to reach American shores and commits terrorist activities. Trump really screwed up big time and the republicans know it, but won't admit it.

You misunderstand me. I think America should be the worlds police. We should send troops whenever we want to kill terrorists and i don't care what other countries think about it.

My point is the people who complain about Trump are gonna complain no matter what he does. They don't care about goid or bad decisions they just want to Trash Trump .

But. If we are gonna send troops overseas then we do it with an eye towards killing all the terrorists. No half measures.
