Chick-fil-A is a privately owned company and believe me, the very wealthy Cathy family have already assured the two organizations they announced they were discontinuing donations will be made up privately by them personally. They walk the walk.

Where in the Frankfurter do you get that they hate gays? The CEO made a statement regarding gay marriage which is part of his religious belief.

Does that mean they're going to cut off the Jesus Music, 24/7?

Hows about you rebut my post. Let's see you prove you know more about what this corporate board should do with its charitable donations to promote its economic interest than it does? Lets see just how good you are at anticipating its needs down the road and adjusting its strategic giving to accommodate them.

Hey you can even prove that the only information on which they ought to depend to make this economic decision is its 'earnings' since 2017 compared to McDonalds and friends that you are jumping up and down declaring as the economic gospel .

Or alternately you can prove that this particular board wants to be all 'woke' and cares more about being 'woke' than it does the almighty dollar?

I don't care which premise you do your magic on.

    That is your unsubstantiated opinion.
I am sure many felt [some probably still do] the same way about interracial marriage, women having the right to vote or blacks having the ability to own land and vote.

The only insult to human intelligence is the belief that a personal religious narrative should overrule the rights of others.

I'd suggest you check out their financials.

They've curb stomped the competition pretty much since day 1, and it isnt slowing down.

So... I doubt somebody thinks they have an image problem, especially not here in the states.

Probably has to do with how they're perceived overseas.

Marriage is a union by two consenting adults that marry, that is the law in this country, it is what it is

you can say you don't want it to be, but fact is, there are many many same gender married couples - people once said the same about inter-racial marriage as some do now about intra-gender marriage

getting into the anti-lgbt fight was their downfall, now trying to get out of that fight will upset the lgbt-haters

so now they will lose customers on both sides... not smart

I used to eat there, but avoid it now, it just turns me off, won't contribute my $$$ to them

I have always liked their food and their service is always exceptional so I will continue to eat there but I do think it is insane that some on the right are wanting to boycott the chain because they have chosen not to donate to charities that discriminate.

I understand why gay people and their supporters would have been upset with their donations because it directly impacted them, their community and their loved ones — but can you imagine how much hate someone must have to want to boycott somewhere because they are not donating to discriminatory entities. That’s all this is, and all it ever was. Hate. Maybe not on Chick-fia-a’s part, but definitely on the people that mad about this.

I personally am glad they are abandoning this demographic and hope all companies and organizations do the same.

Then there is Popeye's, fighting for a bigger share of the chicken market..... The recent Popeye's hype is insane.

    Chic-fil-a is better IMO.
Wasn’t really impressed with the Popeye’s version — and people are getting into fights over it.
    The world has gone insane.

Since the closest one is over 40 miles away, I rarely eat there but do when possible, I like the food and customer service, could care less about politics when choosing lunch, I doubt many do.

this is not just about politics, this is about supporting discrimination, I do not support places that support discrimination based on gender or race - it just makes me not feel good about eating there knowing my money would go to such a cause

In whose polite society? A tiny corner of the planet, housing a tiny proportion of humanity? Yeah, the rest of the world doesn't care.

But your link did not prove much relevance. The topic is much broader in scope than your earnings report link from 2017
