The Democrats who started the Civil War are no longer alive. The last one died a long time ago. Do you even know what years the Civil War took place?

Look up Carol Swain, Professor of Political Science at Vanderbilt University. She can explain the history to you.

I know you lack standard critical thinking skills. But you just tried to tie Democrats from the civil war with today’s Democrats. That was beyond silly.

I believe the user Republican term, today’s democrat would be called a DINO by their Civil War name sakes. I have been to Mississippi. Those Republicans feel exactly like the Democrats did in the 1860’s.

"I know up lack"....? Are you trying to absolve Democrats from starting the Civil War and starting the KKK?

Actually, I REALLY hope that what is happening under the Trump administration, we see a MAJOR shift away from both progressive liberalism and hard right wing policy and more towards the middle.

My wet dream would be we no longer go by political affiliation as we vote on the merit of the person and their policies. This Freaking (D) and (R) are destroying this country!

Don't need too. Took the class with one of the foremost knowledgeable professors in US History. Robert E. May.

You can swap out the word democrats with the word southerners, which is almost wholly represented by the right.
If democrats are the party of the confederacy (technically correct but everyone knows the parties switched) why is it that the right is obsessed with their memorabilia?

They are the party that supported slavery. The left is the one obsessed.

It’s like your discussing regression analysis with a 12 year old.

    Great point.

    Think about it...

...The GOP is grasping for even the tiniest scintilla of anything "positive" to deflect from the Ongoing Trump Trainwreck...

SO, that even the "Party Switch" (from (D) to (I)) of an obscure State Legislator (that 99.9% of America has never even heard of) is Major NEWS rivaling the early reports of 9/11.

I wish PA State Sen. Yudichak all the best. :salute:

Yudichak was always a DINO, so this is a good move for him and the democrats; they'll replace him with a democrat in the next election for state senator who will actually embrace democrat party values.

I wonder if AL Senator Doug Jones in the US Senate might try the same in order to keep his seat.
