Well, then you would not be able to make this post asking this important question.

If you aren't saving the world for people, who are you saving it for?

I view having children sort of like the stock market curve in the long run. Throughout the time frame it does up and down and up and down but at the end it's better off than when it began even with all of the bumps in the road. Not having kids is like a gradual upward trend that will go much smoother and have less ups and downs but will level off at the end lower than the kid ticker.

It's a question I hear asked all the time to my colleagues who have children. "Is it genuinely worth it?" and the answer is usually yes even with all of the royal hell kids can bring to your life. I've never had any children of my own but I was with a woman who had a baby whom we raised together for many years until the relationship ended. I know it's not the same when they aren't your actual children but I can relate a little bit. Having a child in my life changed my entire life overnight and it was a hard transition. There were days when I was on cloud 9 and wanted to do nothing but hang out with the little guy all day long and never let go. The were also days when I had a genuine vision of tossing the little guy out of the window lol. But even with the added stress and dynamic of a toddler running around in my life at the end of the day him sitting on my lap watching cartoons and giggling made every second of misery he brought worth it.

Even though I look at the whole thing like the stock market as I said, I still have a difficult time convincing my own self that it's a road I actually want to travel. That relationship ended many years ago and while I am alone now there are some days when I would give anything in the world to have my little buddy come running up to me when I opened the door after work. Or even hear him running amok in the house as he was prone to do on occasion. And there are other days when I pull up to my drive way and thank my lucky stars that there is nobody here waiting for me and I could walk in my house and plop down on the couch in peace and quiet.

For me it's weird and hard to explain. Do I miss them? Yes, pretty much every day. Do I actually wish they were here? Eh...sometimes.

If a man and woman have one child that is already decreasing the world's population by 50%.

I've also heard pro-choice advocates refer to the fetus as a parasite. The depravity knows no bounds.

Many people who don’t have children are hedonists who spend the extra money on material things and extensive travel, both of which consume resources and leave a large carbon footprint.

Many people who have children are hedonists who want children and have them because that is what they want.

They spend their money on material things like kid's food, clothing, toys, phones, games, homes, car seats, cars, furniture, sporting equipment, education, travel ALL of which leave a carbon footprint MULTIPLIED.

I'm pretty sure that the carbon footprint of a family with children is on average measurably larger than those without even when doing all of those things.

I mean hell I'm a single guy. I physically can't eat enough to equal to a family of 4....Or consume as much energy heating my water for bathing, or heating or cooling my home...

I'm pretty sure no matter what I do my carbon footprint will still remain smaller than even a modest family's would...

What I meant was that if your parents had chosen to remain child-free, you would not have been able to ask that question.

The government, like a parasite, lives of its tax payers. A welfare-recipient, like a parasite, lives of its tax payers.

    Just sayin'.
