CIVICS EDUCATION, CIVICS EDUCATION, CIVICS EDUCATION!

This is due to the fact that our comprehensional-level state-wise is badly served by dramatically insufficient Civics Learning.

Rather than my rabbiting about its faults, I refer to this more authentic web-publication here: A Look at Civics Education in the United States - excerpt:

PS: And also, from the same site: The Need for Civics Education

Explain exactly why the EC is outdated, obsolete and an insult to the intelligence of the American voter, as well as a prime impediment to American democracy?

Isn’t it funny - liberals claim that they are more educated than conservatives and yet they don’t understand the concept of electoral college and federation.
To them the US is a unitary state with President being the temporary emperor with unlimited power. If they knew that the POTUS is a relatively weak office that has a lot of constraints on it they wouldn’t demonstrate against Trump like a bunch of fools right after Trump was elected.
Go to social media and look for people participating in 2016 protests to identify liberals with low education.
Honestly, after 2016 liberal breakdown I’d be embarrassed to call myself a liberal or a progressive.

See, the thing is, our government was never intended to represent the will of the people. It was to protect the people from foreign invasion and protect the inherent rights of the people.

Threads like this amuse me because they are based on the false premise that any group or majority is to dictate to any other. The problem isn’t the EC. The problem is people now want government to help them impose their will on others, a complete 180 degree turn from our founding.

I've taught almost every social studies class offered for grades 7-12 over the course of 10 years. This includes Civics and Economics. The truth is that social studies classes are of absolute minimal priority for almost all school districts. STEM classes and all variations of math, computers and science are the greatest priority in terms of time and resources because everyone thinks these will help students (and the community) bring in "good jobs".

Even some variants of these classes get higher priority like robotics.

I agree with Greg Gutfeld (FoxNews) He said that "if we're going to send kids to school for 16 years (he obviously counted college) then when they get out they should be Navy Seals who can play the violin in classical music concertos. Instead when most kids get out of school people are just happy if they can spell stuff more or less right when they tweet."

The EC was very important in 1787, but not so much today. IMO it is archaic and likely unnecessary in modern times.

No matter, the deep state and Israel are in firm control of the federal government and its policies and expenditures.

Take your conspiracy theories to the forum dedicated to it. We've no need for them in the place adults are talking.

    What a pile of you-know-what!

I don't know what you mean by "liberals". If you mean this, "respecting and allowing many different types of beliefs or behaviour", then, yes, I am one. Some call that the essence of "intellectual freedom".

Then you turn off to a bit of public slander, "temporary emperor with unlimited power". We think that, do we? Wow!

You do have a way with words. The wrong way ...

PS: If the PotUS was "constrained" he would not be the prime-agent in an ongoing DC investigation at the HofR. Donald Dork knows no constraints, which is why psychologists have typified him as a "narcissistic individual". Don't believe that? See here.

O the irony. In a thread appealing to "education."

Can't speak to the sorry state of Civics education in the U.S., but someone is badly in need of -something- in this thread.

About the same as those low information voters who voted for Trump. I'm guessing he is bashing those too.

I was referring more to the idea that Israel controls anything of significance in the U.S.

I t is idiotic and UNdemocratic that 538 strangers that 99.99999% recurring American voters have no clue as to who they are, elect our president and vice president. It makes a joke of our claim of being a democracy.

    Who made that claim?

If we where a democracy, gay marriage would be illegal, we the people in California said so.

If you imagine they think it through to that degree, you're very very kind. It's ALL about the free lunch. Literally, that's where it stops.

I have lived in three separate states and voted. I have never seen voters picked up by a bus and brought to the polls anywhere I have lived or voted.I have lived and voted both in a city and in more rural locations.
