    Hey it's not my opinion, but I'm willing to be persuaded either way.

    It's Time for a Massive U.S. Navy Base in Australia

    The author argues that the rise, and belligerence, of China, makes a major permanent US military presence in Australia a good long term strategic move for both countries, but I wonder how our Aussie posters feel about it?

    That's why I was curious as to what the Aussies thought. I assume that most of them accept the fact that in the long run they'll wind up as a possession of China, so why antagonize their future masters by allowing Americans to establish a large military presence there?
