    Not REALLY.

    Nixon (after his LIES during Watergate were exposed) DIDN'T deserve "respect".

    ^To name just one (glaring example).

    Nor does a TREASONOUS, RUSSIAN-PUPPET, AMERICA HATER (like Trump) deserve any "respect".

    If Melania doesn't want to be "tarred with the same broad brush" she should divorce Trump.

    Respect should be given to a person due to the position and levels of responsibility they hold. They should not be expected to "earn" anything. I'm a school teacher and football coach. I fully expect my students and players to respect me from day one. Otherwise at what point can it be decided that I've "earned" respect.

    The idea that "someone has to earn my respect" is predicated on the false notion that you have a right to impose requirements upon those who are arguably already in a superior position.

    I just watched the video, the arse who is introducing her starts in the middle of the stage and introduces her. The boos start and grow as he walks across the stage to the other side where the First Lady is waiting of the side. Instead of the proper and polite thing an MC should do and STOP and turn to the crown and admonish them for their disrespect for their HONORED guest he embarrassed her by bringing out on that stage to have to face all the disrespect that was being shown. And she faced it nobly and with dignity which certainly wasn't shown by any one else there. As I said she was the ONLY one who showed any class.
