Since we're coming up on Thanksgiving I thought I'd updated family arguments. Here's a thread from 2016 about how to argue with right-wing relatives: ://politicalforum.com/index.php?threads/how-to-argue-with-right-wing-relatives.484690/ Here are a couple of more recent pieces:
Why does it not surprised be that the far right think that there is a war on thanksgiving? I mean, we are talking about people who think that someone not celebrating Christian is attacking their religious freedom.
Leftists deny the meaning of Thanksgiving ... to give thanks to God. That was the original intent, and for most people it’s still very relevant. Of course, for many people it’s just a day off work.
The enitre "war on Christmas" was based on far right Christians getting pissed off whenever stores, even if the owners were not Christian, didn't put up Christmas decorations and things like that. They claimed that by not doing so, the stores were attacking their religious freedom.
I thought liberals didn't like Thanksgiving because in their "critical thinking" they rushed to guilt over it. So, liberals, which is it? You're guilty? or you're not? If you are guilty about traveling, but you still did it, doesn't it really mean that you don't think global warming applies to your actions? Or does it just mean that you're going to feel guilty about having "contributed" but in just "your small way"? gosh, and think about all those global warming celebrities jetting around the globe in their pursuit of their own holiday plans, private jets, etc...
Soooo... my husband made a point to get out the MAGA sign that lights up bright, so that my ultra liberal mom and dad see it first thing when they come in this afternoon.
I resent your inference and your ignorance. I am a Christian who celebrates both Christmas and Thanksgiving in a traditional manner and deny nothing. I believe you have forgotten the golden rule.
If there is a problem with family members getting together to be thankful why don't people just NOT GO to the dinner ????? Have a lovely peaceful day at home and do what you LIKE to do...…!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No it wasn't, everyone is getting sick of this PC crap ,in your face and that's another reason why Trump won.
What a great idea. That defines family values. Just curious, I wonder how much do people who agree with that behavior hate their parents?
Must be that righty "family values" thing they ignore when it's inconvenient. Must be awkward having a husband that hates your parents and treats guests badly...
