Good news from the border. The detention centers are emptying out. Apprehensions for illegal crossings are down 70% since last May. People crossing the border illegally are being sent back to Mexico to await their immigration hearings.

As many as HALF of the kids being trafficked into the US were not with biological family members.

Squalid conditions? I have no doubt about that, but what is wrong with these immigrants and refugees that they can’t clean up after themselves? I mean, they are causing the squalid condition, would it be too much to ask of these people to pick up a broom, mop, or toilet brush? Or bag up some trash?
To quote my grandma who raised kids in the Great Depression “soap and water doesn’t cost much.” Meaning being poor and destitute doesn’t mean you have to be a dirt bag.

Perhaps they are simply getting them used to the living conditions they will have to face when they get to California

Instead the children are sent to juvenile shelters overseen by the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement, and eventually placed with sponsors in the U.S. while their asylum cases play out. Often, those sponsors are relatives already living in the U.S.

So the migrant parents are taking advantage of this, and sending their children across the border. In the camp, people call it la separación and consider it an act of desperation, and of love.

—The cap on the H-1B visa program for high-skilled workers would be immediately raised from 65,000 a year to 110,000 a year, with 25,000 more set aside for people with advanced degrees in science, technology, engineering or math from a U.S. school. The cap could go as high as 180,000 a year depending on demand.

—New protections would crack down on companies that use H-1B visas to train workers in the U.S. only to ship them back overseas.

—Immigrants with certain extraordinary abilities, such as professors, researchers, multinational executives and athletes, would be exempted from existing green-card limits. So would graduates of U.S. universities with job offers and degrees in science, technology, engineering or math.

—A startup visa would be made available to foreign entrepreneurs seeking to come to the U.S. to start a company.

—A new merit visa, for a maximum of 250,000 people a year, would award points to prospective immigrants based on their education, employment, length of residence in the U.S. and other considerations. Those with the most points would earn the visas.

Illegal immigration is distinct from drug cartels. Drug cartels exist due to America's thirst for illegal drugs.

I tried to understand that response in the context of my statement and it doesn't make sense.

 

Illegal aliens are not refugees. Fat people carrying iphones are not refugees.

Children are separated from the adults to protect them from the high rates of rape, gangs and associated human trafficking that predominates the flow of illegal aliens into the country.

"Trump is stealing children" has to be one of the stupidest things I've ever read. Why would he want to "steal" children?

If anything, those children are sold by their parents or trafficked as pawns to facilitate illegal entry.

If you took the time to educate yourself, you'd realize that your belief system is what jeopardizes those kids in the first place.
