Local small businesses need to promote a local web shopping site. They might even be able to use local restaurants who deliver food to arrange same day local delivery of items from their shop inventories. It is late in the game.

The salesforce.com site promotes itself as the reasonably priced solution for internet transactions - have had no experience with them.

If I might refine the statement: The government can help create an environment that is friendlier to businesses by reducing excessive regulations, which assists in economic growth.

They cannot help or assist in any way. It is only a matter of how much burden they impose on business and consumers. If I burglarize your home twice, am I helping you by stealing less the second time?

That depends on what you stole. ;)
I'll have to disagree. Just as they can assist with a positive environment, they can make a negative environment by the same means - regulation.

Yeah I did most of my Christmas shopping over this weekend too... the discounts were great even when they weren't.

Can you name one thing they can do to assist?

I believe I covered that previously... reduce regulation.

Yeah I had no idea that was a thing until I was randomly browsing Youtube videos a few months ago and ran across a video of that. I was stunned and immediately checked to see if it was available in my area. It's not yet but I'm sure it will be coming in the future at some point. I would absolutely pay someone to go grocery shopping for me and deliver my stuff lol.

I dread grocery shopping so much that it's pathetic, and I openly admit that. I will literally run out of food and sit there half starving in my house because I don't want to deal with grocery shopping on the weekends while the place is packed lol. And even when I do go grocery shopping I am so stupid and frustrated that I will just get a few things and rush out the door because I'm sick of being in there. Which means I have to go more often because instead of just spending more time at once in my backwards brain I hate it so much that I convince myself to just leave and return on a different day lol.

The other day on my way home from work I remembered that I had no side dishes for my dinner. The grocery store is literally 5 seconds out of the way of my evening commute but instead of going to the store to pick up some stuff I said screw it and just went home and decided to eat just chicken for dinner lol.

    I REALLY need grocery delivery.

I tend to get groceries later in the day 9pm ish just to avoid the crowds.

For me the worst part is waiting in line. I can't stand it and will pay a premium to avoid it.

    Me as well.

That is the main thing that first turned me on to Amazon Prime. Due to cost cutting measures stores routinely staff like 2 cashiers even though there's like 15 checkout lanes. So if I go to the store for something quick like toilet paper I'm stuck standing in like for 15 mins behind the person with the basket full of items because the "10 items or less" checkout line isn't open. And of course she has 116 coupons and the one for apples isn't ringing up right so we need the manager....And since more and more folks are avoiding the actual cashiers the self checkout lines are now routinely packed as well.

Plus it's the same routine every time I try to buy anything at any physical store.

Good evening, did you find everything you were looking for?
    Yes thank you
Do you have a rewards card with us?
    No
Would you like to sign up for one?
    No thank you
Are you sure sir? It's free and only takes a few minutes.
    No thank you.
If you spend $100 or more per year it'll actually save you up to 20 dollars and you get 5 cents off of gas
    NO!
Would you like to donate to the local charity?
    I did last time
Would you like to donate again? It goes to the local youth programs here and every little bit helps
    No thank you
Ok here is your receipt, would you mind filling out the survey located here at the bottom to let us know how we're doing?
    OK

    *Walking out the door*
Hey mister do you want to buy some Girl Scout Cookies?
No thank you I don't have any cash and I don't eat cookies
    We take credit cards
OK Ill take some damn cookies

I JUST WANTED TO BUY FREAKIN TOILET PAPER! This is why online shopping is crushing brick and mortar stores. I don't want your rewards program, I don't want to donate to charity, I don't want to see your dirty looks when I say no I don't care if it's the holidays and I don't want parents sending their 6 year old daughters to guilt me into buying their damn cookies every time I try to leave.

This is why the "convenience" of internet shopping has taken off like a rocket. It's flat out annoying dealing with actual people in these places.

    rant off lol
