Is this the real reason why the Far Right distrusts the Government?

No. Americans who distrust government do so because they don't like to be tax, regulated and controlled from cradle to grave.

Actually it's because they have very little clue what the government actually does and are responding to what the GOP has been telling them since Reagan.
I said that the time...when someone tells you to never trust the government and then asks you to install them into that government...they are essentially asking for a license to steal.

You folks ought to read Michael Lewis' "The Fifth Risk" to see how important the government is and what they actually do that affects us all in so many ways ( good ways)

You: Waaaaaa! I can't take care of myself and do anything for myself so I want government to take other people's money and control every aspect of my life from cradle to grave.

Grow up and take care of yourself and stop expecting the government to take care of you!!!!!!!

435 in the house. 100 in the senate. 1 president. 1 vice president. 9 supreme court justices.

How do conservatives want to further concentrate these numbers?

Research shows that conservatives are biologically more fearful and negative than liberals

    1. Conservatives tend to focus on the negative.
In a 2012 study, liberal and conservative participants were shown collages of negative and positive images on a computer screen while their eye movements were recorded. While liberals were quicker to look at pleasant images, like a happy child or a cute bunny rabbit, conservatives tended to behave oppositely. They’d first inspect threatening and disturbing pictures—things like car wrecks, spiders on faces, and open wounds crawling with maggots—and would also tend to dwell on them for longer...

    2. Conservatives have a stronger physiological response to threats.
A 2008 study published in the journal Science found that conservatives have a stronger physiological response to startling noises and graphic images. This adds to a growing body of research that indicates a hypersensitivity to threat—a hallmark of anxiety...

    3. Conservatives fear new experiences.
...This suggests that liberals more often seek adventure and novel experiences. Conservatives, on the other hand, may prefer a more ordered, disciplined lifestyle. This could help explain why they can be resistant to change and progressive policies.

    4. Conservatives’ brains are more reactive to fear.
...Using MRI, scientists from University College London have found that students who identify themselves as conservatives have a larger amygdala than self-described liberals. This brain structure is involved in emotion processing, and it's especially reactive to fearful stimuli. It is possible that an oversized amygdala could create a heightened sensitivity that may cause one to habitually overreact to anything that appears to be a potential threat, whether it actually is one or not.

No we don't. Just the opposite.

We want to DECENTRALIZE the Federal government.

You left-wingers are the one's that want the Federal government to control every aspect of our lives from cradle to grave.

Dictators want their supporters to believe that it is "fake news" so that they can exercise power over them.

    Wrong timeline!

The Visa IPO PRECEEDED the GOP's fiscal malfeasance destruction of the economy by 6 months.

    Facts matter!

Most on the right, by an enormous margin don't dive a crap about someone's race. We care about responsibility, self sufficiency, and contributing to society in positive ways. We believe that Identity Politics is for absolute losers.

Right timeline. On July 29, 1999, HUD Secretary Cuomo commanded that Fannie and Freddie create a demand for borrowers who could barely afford the ARM teaser rate. On May 24, 2007, Pelosi and Reid held Katrina victims and Veterans hostage for 3 job killing / loan defaulting increases in the minimum wage on July 24, 2007, July 24, 2008, and July 24, 2009.

5 Year ARMs started defaulting in 2005 before the Pelosi/Reid implosion, Pelosi became speaker in 2007, VISA went public around 3/20/2008 ---- Pelosi held off consumer protections until she'd swiped plenty of fees from Americans.

Sure that may be one reason for Gov't distrust among some on the far right- but - it is one of many reasons why the Gov't is distrusted - not just by the far right but by the left and right anti establishment movement in general.

The Establishment has been taking advantages - increasing Gov't and police power coupled with decreasing essential liberty - over-riding the safeguards that the founders put in place.

Our justice system is a clown show - right up to SCOTUS.

And that isn't indicative of corruption and incompetence? Government always seeks power and control. Therein is the problem.

You have reminded me of Jefferson's simple wisdom: "Honest friendship with all nations; entangling alliances with none."

A fair statement, but many Americans do not trust their government because the government has a very long and well documented history of deception.

One is a fool to accept anything a government says at face value. The US government is no exception.
